So the 200 I recently purchased is leaking PS fluid, The PO was running part store brand PS fluid, so you all can guess what is happening. I have heard that there is a fluid out there that I could run to help slow the leak, but cant seem to find any info on it. Right now, I really need to keep this car on a budget, so trying to keep from having to replace/rebuild the rack until 80tq project is back on the road.
Any advice would be great

Re: PS fluid question
How bad? M1 ATF / Redline PSF is "better" than Pentosin for a number of reasons which includes seal conditioners. If yours is really bad it is unlikely to solve the problem. If you are looking for a last ditch means of postponing a full service, I don't think it would hurt to try a "stop leak" product but I have never used one.
Re: PS fluid question
Well, I never checked the level of the pluid before I left from VA, but now that I am back in PA the tank is pretty well empty, and the pump is wining. It doesnt seem to be spraying out, but the under side of the car is quite wet. Then again, who know how long it has been leaking.
I think I might have to give that a shot. I read somewhere that some guys were having luck with the Lucas PS additive. Maybe fill the system with M1 ATF and a bottle of the Lucas stuff. I just really need this to hold for another couple months.

Re: PS fluid question
Stupid question but is it acceptable to mix a M1 ATF or Redline PSF with the pentosin? Is it mandatory to drain the current fluid?
Re: PS fluid question
This was tested by Mance and all 3 mix well.

Re: PS fluid question
If you're leaking that much, stop leak will likely not work. When the hoses in these systems start leaking that bad, pretty much your only choice is to replace the leaking parts. If you're set on trying stop leak, then put cheap fluid in there with it and save your money.

My plan is to rehab the system. I just have other priorities right now. I'm just hoping to make the system last for another year. After that I will replace it.

Ok then. I hope the stop leak works!
