I plan on getting a 3D printer next year to print prototypes of parts. Then make a mold of them and cast them in aluminum. Seems like a great way to cast a custom intake manifold or other complex parts.

while the 07K swap is nice, and maybe the head flow better then the old 5cly ever will, still cost a lot of money (just add everything together)

That is crazy. Going through it, I can't help but think about how much 3D printing could simplify that process.

google "lost PLA casting". its on my list of things to play with, eventually.
