So, I'm planning on running VEMS when I do the engine swap. What do I need to put a 3B in a CQ? I have 7a clutch/FW, completeish 3b, What little things will I need?

I believe you'll need the 3b harness even if going VEMS but don't quote me on that. The things that hung me up while doing the swap were the wiring, downpipe and intercooler. Other than those, everything should be plug and play.

Lots of 3b swaps going on right now so there should be good info floating around at the top of the forums.

Biggest thing I faced with my swap was motivation to keep going. At first I was super motivated and had a lot of hope but it was when I started putting back together is when the little things reared their heads and tried my patience. It's worth all the blood, sweat and tears though!

Since you'll be running vems, do you want me to hold onto my rs2 injectors for a tiny bit of an upgrade?

Nick, he's gonna be running the econoseal version of vems so he'll be using his own harness, whether it be flying lead or completely custom.

nice! econoseal is fine. make a nice harness. where do you plan to go after its running? upgrades? may want to start saving for rods, ARP studs, stainless valves, clutch...pretty much the works.

Philihp, he may as well go with the deca 60lb injectors. they still have enough room to run E85 with a medium turbo in the future. Having said that, advice... don't bite off more than you can chew for a while. I'm running Hanks Billet k26, and when I tuned for E85, found my clutch couldn't hold the insane power it was capable of producing. the difference between 91 craptane and E85 is monstrous. enjoy yourself! and we'll be watching  :D

I think for now I'll be running stock k24/26 (whichever I end up picking up) with either stock 3b injectors or my 034 7A injectors, whichever are bigger. For right now I just want to get it in and running stock with VEMS. Then I'll build up my extra block slowly with rods, clutch, bigger (Massive?) turbo etc etc. But that's a ways down the road. Anyone ever thought of a compound turbo setup on a 5 cyl? I don't see why not other than $$ and packaging. :we:

I've been kicking around the idea of a compound turbo with my brother but space constraints are a bitch... figure I'll get 'er installed and running first.

I'm initially thinking twin charging would have more flexibility.

A supercharger just sounds like a lot of effort to me.. Would be cool though

Replacing the rear wheel bearing that I just replaced six months ago, which direction does the slot go? In? out?

The slot all the way around the inside of the wheel bearing. It's offset to one side and I can't remember which way it goes. I remember reading about it but I think the place who pressed it in did it backwards, hence it going bad in six months. :idunno:

I think it goes outwards? When the hub comes out it can come out with the inner race of the bearing still on it. So. If that helps.

Well, fixed my heater a few weeks ago, put on the rear sway bar which is glorious, and just did my wheel bearing today and discovered my driver rear axle is bent. :idunno: I don't even know how I managed this. Must be all that mad NA torque... Looks like I'll be putting in a new axle this weekend! :bangshead:
