Since this forum seems fairly URS4 friendly I decided I would pop in here and post my daily thread.

So my not beloved 96 b14 Sentra died a awesome death. It was raining for 3 days straight here and a road I take to go to school has a bunch of dips in it. Well with the recent rain some of the dips has started filling up. I made it over the first mini river no problems but then came across this behemouth.

Seeing other cars made it through I said fuck it. So I went in, the motor started bogging and plop it died. I was halfway through, I floated another 5 feet or so to where I was only 10 feet from the end.rofl:rofl:rofl

Luckily some guys in a truck came and pulled me the rest of the way out until the tow truck came.

Got it home and it had dried out so I went to start it. I was greeted by the sound of victory er I mean death of the motor. ROD KNOCK. Knowing the car was now dead I needed a new daily within 24hrs as I had school on Monday.

I got to searching on cars.com and looked at several cars. Merc E320, Lxues GS300, SC3/400, E46, plus much more. My dad kept telling me to just get a camry or ford escort:rofl I was tired of tin can shitboxes so I kept on the search.

Until I found it. A bone stock unmolested 1993 URs4 with 142000 on the dot. It was located an hour and a half away. My dad took me up there and I looked over the car, test drove it and scared the shit out of the salesman and mechanic.

$2050 Big ones later and it was mine.

Driving her home was an absolute blast. I tangoed with a newer raptop and kept up so that was a huge smile on my face.:D

I am going to wash it, scrub the inside and just drive it for now. I did put a filter on just for the whoosh and whistle:rofl I know I am ricer.

There arent real modding plans for it, just upgrading when something needs replaced.

I recieved the 034 motorsports track density motor mounts today. After reading about them more I wish I would have just gotten the mustang mounts, but I couldnt find exactly how they mount and what modifications need to be done to them. So if these blow it will be onto the mustang mounts.

Also got my some of my rockauto maintenance order in. Centric front and rear rotors, and two new CV boots for the front outer. Since my axles are not making noises just the boots are exploded I am doing boots for now.

Good call on just doing the boots. Bad call on the motor mounts. You're better off with broken stock mounts than putting those things in. Nice purchase y
though, take good care of it and it will take good care of you

I know I know shame on me. We will see how long they last. My stock ones are terrible right now. The shifter moves on blips of the throttle and they are visually torn all around. Plus I get the clunk when I power shift.

They should last you a while - if you have access to a welder and they break it is pretty easy to fix them. But yes - HPR mounts or the energy ones are way better.

What a motherfucking steal for 2 grand by the way - check that timing belt!

I do have a welder, already in the works for fabbing up a 3 inch turbo inlet pipe similar to 034's design but shorter route.

I checked the t-belt looks fairly good. I will change it after the high priority stuff is done.

I totally understand, but why not return them and order mounts from Marc (EFIExpress) or Hank (Iroz Motorsports). They have mounts which are simple, but effective and wont break. Also pretty cheap! There is a member on this forum (AngryTaco) who makes mounts too. Plenty of good options, then you don't have to do the job twice WHEN the 034 ones break.

Nice car! When you break the 034 motor mounts get a hold of me (Marc at efiexpress.com is a distributor of them as well)

Also, holy shit of a deal. I only wish I could sell this damn saab and get a nice urS4 for a daily for that kinda price

When you are ready for trans mounts as well, let me know. Ive got a list of people waiting on them

I would but this week is my fall break and I need to get the laundry list of work done so I can get is safety inspected.

Shit! That is less than a weeks of driving for me.

Yeah but I doubt you are making nearly the torque I am. I used to drive that car 650 miles a week before I got my saab....and I wasnt all that easy on it lol. You should be fine for a while if you are easy on it

Taco I checked out your website. I will keep you in mind for then they go. Do you do trans mounts and rear diff mounts? I need rear diff soon as I am getting a big clunk from the back now. Trans mounts will be soon with the way I am.

Like I said not much for the build just more general maintenance and upgrade when broken kinda build. This car for the time being will not be like any other URS4 AAN running around that is a monster this will be a mild daily.

But I did the motor mounts and holy shit were they spent.

The completely broken one was the passenger the otehr was the driver. The drivers side had been compresed about 1/4 of an inch front when the motor would torque onto it.

Changed the plugs today. I will pull them out at the end of the week to see how they look.

I have no clue how old the ones in there were but from the looks of it

Cyl 1-Loose, oil on top, plug color indicates rich.
Cyl 2- Loose, oil on top, plug color indicates hot/lean
Cyl 3- Extremely tight, plug indicates slightly rich/ spot on
Cyl 4-^^^
Cyl 5-^^

I am going to need valve cover seals eventually.

I also replaced the boost lines that go to the FPR, and ECU with new lines and new T. The car pulls amazing now. Also did the wastegate line. Same results the power seems more linear than before.

Dif mount, trans mount, and otger urs4/6 goodies are being worked on. Currebtly working on the b2, b3, and b4 center dif mounts.

What plugs did you go with?

NGK BKR7E. It had some Bosch platinums in there.

Sign me up for the trans and diff mounts, I want to be the first in line. But depending how long it takes for R&D I may just go with some Apikol.

Once I get the dimensions ill be good to go and Ill let you know. Thabks for the heads up too on the trans mounts.

Yeap I stated that in the post. It wasnt alot. I am going to pull the plugs in a week to see how their color is, depending how much oil is down there will determine the priority of the new gasket.

Its really easy to replace and cheap. Get the gasket It'll also cost you more down the road when one of your coils dies because it was trying so hard to arc through the oil (oil is non-conductive) that it gave up the ghost from thermal fatigue. Benefit from my experience... or learn the hard way! Your choice

Well I just had to place another order to rockauto for some new tie rod ends since mine are seized. So I did order the vc gasket.

The guy who worked at firestone drove a red 4kq 20vt, and had another audi I forgot what. Really cool guy, he mentioned something about using a new bolt to tighten down the wastegate spring through the cap. I couldnt find much info on that. I understand it would prevent premature wastegate opening but would it raise the boost levels and wouldnt I need to be chipped for the higher boost?

Yeah... don't do that unless you're tuned for it. It'll work fine, but for the fairly minimal gain you'll get from it, it isn't worth it in my opinion.

I have that setup on my 20vt. I believe its just a fine thread M12 bolt. It's not all that hard to do. I was going to do it myself, but a modified wastegate with new diaphragm popped up for like $50, so I jumped on it

Havent really done much besides maintenance.

The last bit of maintenance for the car is
T-belt
Water Pump
Serp belt
MFTI
Thermostat
Coolant flush
Trans Fluid
Rear diff fluid

That should set the car up for regular maintenance as required from there.

I have ordered enough vinyl to do the roof and trunk. I am going to start on that during break. Along with the rest of the maintenance. Also a headunit is on the plans as well.

What is everyone doing for a cigarette socket? I would like to use my cell phone charger but it has the bigger euro socket.

Also would like to add it has been an enjoyable 2.1k miles I have already put on it.
