With nitrous that is :D

I just read a story about a racer that used nitrous to cool his air post-turbo instead of an intercooler to save weight and drag on a drag strip.

Hap(UrS4guy) on MG and quattroworld is using nitrous to cool his intercooler for his car(da monstah). He's pulled over 700whp out of his heavily modified urs4 with that set up.

"A Banks Double-Shot Auto-Chiller system is used here. It’s a two-stage system with the flow being tied to the intercooler outlet temperature. The first three nozzles spray a mist onto the intercooler when the intercooler outlet temperature reaches 100F. The second set of two, making for a total of five nozzles, come into play when the temperature exceeds 150F. Again, evaporative cooling is the basic operating principle in play and used to externally cool the charge air flow. For anyone living in dry and hot climates, this is basically a swamp cooler for the intercooler."

I ran N2O on my B5 S4 and loved it. I ran a 55 shot then uped to a 75 with no issues. This was installed on my APR Stage 3 car. It ripped. I removed it because filling the tank got too expensive.

Hence Nick's nickname "Nitros Nick"... among the B5S4 crew.... possibly the greatest contributing factor in running 11's on an APR tune
