I would like to make my 87 4k as utilitarian as possible. To avoid having to buy a truck, I want to mount/fab a hitch on my 4k and be able to attach a dirtbike rack on the back. what would be the best location to safely mount (load will be approx 320 lbs including bike). It would be great fun to design something like this imo
an example of the type of rack I want to use...

Buy a small trailer and fab a hitch up. Way faster and fewer headaches

The hitch I used to have on my 4000 had a c-channel that was held onto the rear bumper mounts via U-bolts. It then had something in the trunk mounted to it.
I don't have pix of it installed, but I could tow a 1600lb boat (200lb tongue weight give/take) pretty easily. You could watch the hitch flex under the load though, so not sure it'd work well w/ a cantilevered bike rack off the back.
