No, not Marc Swanson, I'm a different Marc with a URS4. 8-)
I'm a former VR6 turbo owner that finally got talked into the dark side by my buddy who has a 3B swapped coupe and AAN swapped 4000.

Picked up a 93 that was totally taken apart: engine out, head off but all on a fresh stock rebuild apparently.

Started the slow process of putting it all back together for the past month and trouble shooting a number of issues but need up with a compete URS4 that runs beautifully.

Engine:
EFI Express Motronic Speed Density Tune (Coming Soon)
ARP Head Studs
034 Flywheel
South Bend Stage 4 Clutch
Iroz Equal Length Header
Iroz Downpipe
Custom Exhaust w/ Vibrant Muffler
BW EFR 7670 Twin Scroll .92 ar
Turbosmart IWG Actuator
Sound Performance Quick Spool Valve
FID 1200cc Injectors
Bosch 044 Fuel Pump w/ 034 Mount

Drivetrain/Braking:
Porsche 996 Front Brakes with S8 Rotors
Apikol Brackets
17" BBS SR Wheels
Apikol Snub Mount

Suspension
Bilstein Shocks
H&R Sport Springs

Other
AEM Air/Fuel Gauge
Autometer Boost Gauge
EGT (Coming Soon)

Time for a long overdue update...

After going back and forth over a lot of decisions I've decided on a plan and acquired most of what I need for this build.

Marc has been super patient with all of my questions and he really was able to guide me through the decision making process on my setup.

BW EFR 7670 .92ar
Iroz Manifold - Quick Spool Valve Fitment w/ EGT
Iroz 3" Downpipe
Sound Performance HD Quick Spool Valve
FID 1200CC Injectors
Speed Density Tune on Factory Motronic
Bosch 044 Fuel Pump w/ 034 Adapter

Also got some 17" BBS wheels to fit my 996 brakes. Just haven't gotten around to them yet.

Anybody have information on how the Apikol FMIC kit fits when using Hank's Manifold?

Marc put my Apikol FMIC in for me and it fits like stock- just two small slats need to be cut into the lower bumper but any specifics he'd know about. They aren't terrible to put in from what I have heard. He would be the one to ask, EFI Express is his business. I have the same kit with the 7163 and am so impressed by it. Just have to put in some shrick camshafts to open up the top end. I was between the 7670 and 7163 but chose 7163 for spool because I figured I wouldn't even use the power on the public roads anyways.

Thanks or the feedback.

Are you running your QSV off exhaust pressure or boost pressure alone?

Have any pics of your QSV setup? I have one as well - looked through your thread but didn't see any finished pics.

Thanks!!

@Herbehop, always confirm with the expert but I believe boost pressure. We have a built in safety that if the exhaust backpressure exceeds 30psi the valve opens. I will say, the induction/turbo noise with the QSV is really different and sounds awesome! You can hear the change in induction noise when it opens. The downside is that the exhaust is much more muffled with the QSV closed, which Jim and I have both noticed. You'll love it for sure. What cams are you running? Also, underhood temps get pretty crazy with this setup. Mine is swain white lightning coated and I had to wrap the downpipe where it passes under the axle boot so it doesn't cook the rubber but I am also going to put a inconel patch above the turbo on the hood. There is a company out East that will inconel wrap turbo/mani/dp, for A LOT of money, but that is what they do in all the new "hot-v" motors (Audi 4.0TT V8, BMW 4.4TT V8, Mercedes 4.0TT V8). The turbos are in the "V" of the motor. Maybe if I win the lottery, haha. I wish you luck in the build!
