How do you access AC diagnostics on early 86 5ktq Avant?

Hi All,

I just bought an early 1986 Audi 5000 CD quattro Avant from Martin Pajak. Its job is to replace my 4kq which lost its floor almost completely through vicious rusting of a repair. Must have been bad steel... And to replace to 91 200 20V Avant which suffered an engine fire, and which the insurance company royally reamed me on.

So, the new beast, formerly known as Bella, now trying to see if she'll respond to Heidi (since she's Zermatt) is really clean, but the AC seems to be a bit slow to respond, though it works.

The sequence on 20v.org doesn't work for this unit.

It's an early one that has the rear defrost in the AC head unit.

Does anyone know how to access the diagnostics?
