well, the culmination of the last couple days.

i dropped the dogbox due to a "noise" i did not appreciate.

couldnt direct source the noise, so i cut open a spare bellhousing and center section, assembled the gears in it (after much grinding to go from narrow first center to wide first spec) and discovered the offender.

spent time fixing and now its done.

and fixed, after disassemble/grind/reassemble three more times. i chucked the reverse gear up in the lathe using a bolt thru the center then took a grinder to it. i won.

Would be interesting to hear the results. Just a heatshield or...? Lol idk. Everyone used to say go for PTP because they were awesome and had great customer service. Of course I called about a warrantied replacement and instead of them helping, they snuck away and let my warranty run out. Mine is falling apart and PTP customer svc BLOWS!

I did put the bigger holset in today tho :D

Spent the weekend restoring a play house/swing set to reveal it for my daughters birthday on Friday. Also tinkered with the MR2 a tad (not enough) and broke the volvo (solenoild failure).

Finished pulling all 4 cams to inspect the 16 rockers on my ST4's 916 motor (chrome flaking is a common problem). All are good, just have to put it all back together and adjust the 16 rockers...

I put a similar wrap on from Treadstone on and it started falling apart after the first track event. I pulled it off and the inside had burned off and the rest was a crispy mess. This is just a radiant heat shield. I always had one before, just now getting around to making one for the 07k setup. Got to protect the coils from getting too hot.

On sunday, I figured our a drainage issue, so...

Moved four blue stone sidewalking pieces at 3-4in thick and the smallest one 4'x4' then dig 25-30cu ft of dirt which was 50% rocks. Then put drainage pipe in and cover with 36 bags of concrete.

I
am
whipped.

That sounds as fun as spending 5 hours weeding a 20'x10' bed that was horridly overgrown by crab grass and irises... filled a 65 gallon and 90 gallon garbage can full of junk, and gave away a couple totes full of irises b/c we didn't have enough room for them!

I need to finish the yard work, so I can start on the new toy/project that's patiently waiting in the garage!

I did get a work on the MR2 tonight. It is on the road and getting an alignment on Thursday so I needed to get the height finalized. Nice to be working on CARS again. I do really like quiet time in the garage.

I met with a fence guy to get a couple of quotes. I need to see if its worth doing it myself... more digging and concrete may be in the forecast:/

That audi 50! Noms!

Got a buddies car out of my storage garage buy moving 5 of my cars, lol. Had to toss OEM wheels back onto my truck since the MR2 wheels center bore is too small by 2mm or so. Then put the CF lip on the MR2 last night. Today swapped wheels to the allroad (it was recently totaled...) so I can get the newish winter tires off, then toss the dry rotted evo tires on the winter wheels and let them take the car on tuesday. Then wet sanded and buffed the volvo summer wheels I painted. A car filled weekend yay!

That 50 is so awesome

Just typical Allroad bullshit today. Rotors and pads turned into seized pistons and incorrect pads, lol. Should finish the "quick afternoon job" Tuesday when the real pads and rebuild kits come.

Was reminded that oil is flammable... and that the stock placement of the PCV system on the AAN block sucks when launching...

So now I'm looking for the underhood heat liner, a suitable air filter, and possibly a new 2.0t harness....
Along with planning for a catchcan system and some ideas for heat shielding and ducting as I'm also having coils that are getting easily heat-soaked

Well that's not cool at all. Did a hose clamp come loose or something? I was actually sent an UrS4 catch can kit from 034 by accident (when I requested the crank case breather hoses for a 200 20v). I haven't had the time to do anything about it. Want it?
