Suspension? - Bilstein HD's/SP with H & R sports springs

Anyone run the Bilstein HD's with the H & R sports? Ive read through piles of opinions in other forums on these setups and its concluded that they are the same the HDs are just internally taller.

I know its recommend to run the sports "avg. 1.5" drop with lowering springs but how low is too low for the HD's?

I'm trying to install either setup on my 86 AWD Tquattro wagon.

Thoughts?

I'd run sports with lowering springs and HDs with stock springs... Pretty much what each are made for.

Why risk bottoming out internally?

I like where your heads @. Sport it is then. Can't wait to feel the difference over the beat up stock ride.

On my B3 I'm running HD's with B&G springs. They ride rock hard. Just my $.02

My boss just worked a deal with bilstein at Sema. We got a bunch of display material, it says right on it... HD for stock springs, Sport for lowering springs.

DE80... Iirc BGs are pretty low, you may be on or close to the internal bumpstops with HDs.
