1991 200 20v sedan with drilled slotted stocker size rotors

So I'm looking on r1convepts.com at their stock drilled/slotted rotors and it wants to know if the front pads are ATE brand (type?). Does anybody know if this is inherent to the sedan or the wagon? Does this even apply to the 20vt models? I like the stock wheels and don't feel like going to larger rims.

I'm specifically looking at the eLine black edition drill/slotted rotors. I know they're like $60 each but I do t actually care lol. Anyone have any input please? Thanks!

Julian

It could be that the "ATE type" front is the UFO caliper/rotor. Is the FMSI number for the pads D467? All 200q20vs came with UFOs, but many were converted to the late V8 and UrS-car G60s. Fronts shouldn't affect your rears.

Rears would be the same vented rear on all 200q20vs, with a different offset rotor than the UrS and V8 cars, but the same across all 200q20vs.

Ya I tried telling them the fronts didn't matter haha. I'm almost certain, given my old mechanic friend's resources, that they were converted to 1988 front suspension. The pads for 88 5k were a match when I changed them. Thank you for your help man!

Actually let's do this. I absolutely despise not having ETKA any longer. Long story but my virtual OS on my win 8 had a driver failure and I can't remember how the hell I even got it to work to begin with.

Berserker, I hate asking, but is there a definitive method of figuring out which vehicle all that braking hardware came from? Specific/main part number easily located on one of the larger parts perhaps? TIA sir.

I don't know that I can help with that, but if you've got G60s on your 20v, it's very likely a UrS4/6 or late V8 strut housing, which IIRC, are the same. 5ktq or UrS car, both use G60 calipers and pads. The UrS struts/hubs literally swapped into the 200q20v with no other modifications. I did it once on a 200q20v I owned 10 years ago. Using 5ktq parts would require at least a different control arm/ball joint, and possibly other parts as well.

I could look up the part number of the UrS strut, but I doubt you'd be able to find it anywhere on your struts, as that label probably fell off years ago and I don't believe the part number is stamped onto the strut housings anywhere.

Ok, so you know you have rotors from either a 5000(100) or a UrS4/6(later 100). Take of one of the rotors and do some measuring on it. You will find the dimensions needed in the catalog listed below.

http://www.national-auto.co.uk/assets/content/documents/brake_disc_cat_-_nov_2014.pdf

Then look up the Audi section of the catalog, and find the rotor that matches what you have. It is a UK catalog, but I find it very useful. You will probably find the cars listed as they are in Europe.

Personally, I would get slotted without drilled. Seen too many drilled rotors with cracks around the holes, and grooves in the rotors because of the holes.

Whoa that's good stuff! Thanks a ton! No more being chained to ETKA lol. Perfect.

I had decided on slotted after further research but what you say only makes me more confident in my decision

Mr berserker you've been extremely helpful as well. I'm a huge moron from time to time and forgot that the UFO caliper was nothing more than a single piston ATE upside down. DUH!

I will post up an further findings on my end. Thanks both of you :)
