Audi Tradition Group Order and Shipping

Is anyone interested in putting in an order to audi tradition and having everything shipped as one big shipment?

There are some parts I can't get in the US for our lovely t44s and some which are just cheaper to buy from tradition than from a parts house here in the US... So I figured why not order up? Make a list of the parts you are interested in and maybe we can get something going.

So far for me, I would like to order:

543721507a - gas pedal for t44 - 65 euro

443823737C - the piece of rubber which runs at the very front of the hood between it and the grill. This is about half the price from tradition - 47.29 euro

447807668B - rubber piece between the front bumper and headlights /grill. Previously NLA. 130.90 euro

Anyone interested in adding on?

Doesn't AT not ship to the US these days?

If you need a Canadian shipping address, I could help out.

They don't, but I have contacts :)If they do ship to CA though, that could definitely be helpful, although it might be easier with a contact in Germany so the parts don't have to go through customs twice.

Would your German contact have to pay VAT? I know one of the perks of buying through Canada was there was no VAT.

Supposedly there might be a workaround for Audi Club N.A. members: http://forums.quattroworld.com/quattro/msgs/14699.phtml

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too for the advantage of using Canada. Only problem is the parts would have to go through customs twice and probably have to be paid taxes on twice. Not sure if it'd come out any better that way.

I was also thinking the same for audi club. I need to look into that.

I feel like Martin and Craig might know something about this. I saw a part about discount to qw members... And ability to order from tradition. That could make it worth it.

Also, the prices on the tradition site include vat plus shipping so we'd get the vast refunded.

I did a similar order via a Canadian contact earlier this year.

The weird thing is that when I placed my order I needed to use his address as my CC billing address too. All US addresses resulted in errors.

I don't think there was double duty paid on it - I don't think there was any from Canada to the U.S.

I'd be in for sure. There are things I need too

I'm planning on putting an order through this week to have it sent to a buddy across the border. The way to not mess with duties is to just go up and get them yourself and bring them down. I know it's not feasible for most people though. I can speak with my contact up there and see if they are ok with having a big order shipped to them and then I'd just go get it and ship it out accordingly. We go up there pretty regularly but I'm not sure how cool they'd be about it.

That'd be great if there is something we could do like that. Just let me know! Thanks.

Yeah! All they'd really have to do is agree to receive it. When I did this before, I paid for the whole order and had it shipped to the dude on Canada. He then shipped the box to me.

Theoretically, your friend could agree to receive a number of boxes which you would then redistribute here stateside. That way no one is fronting anyone else $.

So chatted with my Canuck friend last night for some time and it's sounding like for the time being, he won't be able to receive anything. He works on the power line up there and is going to be working out west for at least a year on a rotational shift. 3 weeks on, 1 week off. I'm heading up in October for a couple weeks to shoot ducks and will ask around to some of my other friends up there in person, if having stuff shipped there would be an inconvenience. I don't foresee it being an issue but will def try and figure something out. We have Canadian friends ship stuff to us all the time being as certain things are insanely expensive up there, so I reckon they'd be happy to return the favor. Sorry I can't help right now but hopefully by fall I could have something setup for group orders a couple of times a year.

I have a Canadian coworker that has offered to reship for me.
I collected a list of people that need coupe Quattro door seals at Carlisle but have yet to work with another poster to this thread to make it happen.
I'll check with my guy tomorrow to confirm that he can still do this for me.

Depending on cost -- group buy would be preferable -- I may be down for a set of seals: doors, windshield, sunroof, hatch.

I'm sure there are at least another two to four potential buyers in my area with b3 coupes.

If this ever gets off the ground we need to order 10 extra sets of coupe door seals. Seems like everyone needs them

My guy in Canada is good with receiving and re shipping stuff.
Before we jump into this we need to work out some logistics.
I'm thinking we order limit the number of items on each order for example the Cq door seals would be one order.
We Need to come up with a way to figure and Include the cross border shipping costs, maybe add a flat 10% and include some padding for currency fluxuations we also need to include exchange fees.
I think USPS flat rate boxes will be a good choice for distribution inside the U.S. This will allow us to easily calculate those shipping costs
I'm willing to receive the bulk shipment from my coworker in Canada.
I'm willing to accept payments via PayPal (as friends or with an additional to cover fees) or checks (I've done this before) and forward the $ to the person doing the ordering.
I'm thinking a spreadsheet either emailed or online for all parties involved in the buy would be a good way to track things
I'm not really comfortable navigating the Audi tradition website for prices and ordering.

Thoughts comments, anybody want to handle the ordering?
This thing needs to be handled as zero cost to the guys doing the ordering and shipping.

Any way to get your guy to split the domestic (Canadian) items before sending to the US?

I understand your position and how re shipping from the U.S. would cause you customs issues.
It sounds like you might be better off ordering directly for yourself from A.T. but that comes with the challenges of dealing with a german website.

Things like hatches and windshields should be kept separate from things like door seals, trim pieces, and other small parts. The guys wanting a small part should not be having to pay shipping ok large part costs, unless we want to do some kind of weighed shipping contribution thing, but that sounds complicated. I think the first thing we need to do is get a full list of who wants what. Then we send that list to audi tradition and see what they have to say about shipping methods.

Anyone have trouble having parts shipped to Canada? I finally got around to ordering up my URq throttle cable and they say this,

"For custom reasons Auto Union GmbH Germany currently is not authorized to deliver spare parts to your market. Please contact your local Audi dealer."

Wtf! Maybe because the billing address is American, shipping address Canadian? Ggggrrrrrrr
