B4 5 lug swap question

I have been doing a bunch of research on this subject. I know a lot of people have used UrS4 front hubs for this swap, but my question is would a B5 2.8l front hub work? According to etka both the B4 and B5 use the exact same front wheel bearing, and the front hubs for a B5 are available aftermarket for a very reasonable price brand new.

I would think the only two main variables would be the shoulder inside and the offset up front... if they're that cheap buy one and try it out. As long as you're careful with the bearing if it didn't fit you should be able to return the hub for refund and keep the bearing.

Just FYI, I used A6 C4 2.3 front hubs in my 80 2.0 struts. Fit right in. Not sure if that will work for you.

You can use b5 quattro rear hubs all round, with them in the rear you need to use b5 rotors and on the fronts just drill your rotors to 5x112. They are 75mm so if you have a v6 b4 you will need the front carriers from either a 4 or 5cyl b4, coupe or b3

The problem is, the coupe and the B4 here in the states used 82mm bearings. Also the B4 uses 14mm bolts to hold the knuckle to the housing, where the B3 uses 12mm bolts. So swapping the B3 knuckle would require opening up the bolt holes to match the housing. Its not hard, but would require either a very steady hand, or a good setup in a drill press or mill.

Rs4tech and I both have B5 rear hubs waiting for our B3s, so now he is just looking for a slightly cheaper and easier solution to the front of the B4.

I just use the b3 hubs and m12 bolts with my v6 struts. Works fine.
