AAN->CQ ECU location

Just curious where people are locating the ECU when doing a swap?
I have a huge bunch of wires to stuff through the firewall and after looking at the hole where the stock wires go through, I am skeptical about being able to fit the AAN harness through this?
Was thinking maybe run it through the hole where AC used to be and locate under the dash or in the glove box. This would be closer to the stock S6 location wouldn't it? I hate wiring but I guess I am going to learn to love it.
My dash is out so I could theoretically put it anywhere and now is a good time.

I think this is the common route for those who've deleted a/c.

A local friend of mine aims at placing his standalone under the rear seat on v2 of his build. Personally I like that idea, as it's out of the way but still accessible. If you have everything pulled apart -- and you're splicing wiring -- now would be the time.

Otherwise, people put the ECU under the dash or glove box, or in the driver's dash cubby. IMO, all those equal an increased PITA when it comes time to do a heater core or other such maintenance.

Thanks for your help. I am going to try and go through the firewall right where the AC was but we'll see about wire length once the harness is finished...

I went through the firewall where the AC lines were on my car. I have a 3B ECU installed in the stock CQ ECU location on the back side of the HVAC box.
