Nice man, but not nice about the clutch... same thing happened to me while running with Nick (30r 200) on the highway. Definitely slipping.

ya, it drove around the pits later, i even did some staging brake stands when i got home in the driveway on the two step just to see if itd hold and it did. maybe it was just getting beat into submission allday long, who knows. we will see. if not i can drop the trans and sandblast the pads on the disc and im told that will bring it back to life.

It seems like that method might work. It makes a lot of sense. For what its worth, mine (even though its stock so it might not apply) came back just fine right after that and has been holding since. I doubt it will hold the next time it runs with the 67 though lol

we will see. its supposed to be nice out today so ill go blast it on the street and see what happens. lol.

if not, apart it comes for winter.

i was behind them in the stagins lanes one of his passes. the thing was all over the track, i think i actually schit my pants a bit for him. car was an animal. lots of time and money into it.

Great job dude the car is moving, All i wanted out of my Gti was a 10 sec street tire pass. I need to start building something again soon.

ya, if i can cut some better 60 times and row through gears like a real man, ill be good. i would love to go faster and faster, but idk if i want to use anything more then street tires because they seem to keep things together, lol.

Nice thats the fastest pass on my car well 1/8th mile 7.2@103 I think my 60' time was a low 1.6 if not 1.5 on regular street tires. It was hit or miss i either bogged bad, spun hard or it was perfect

Ya. More seat time. More messing with the launch control would help. We are gonna get boost off of wheel speed setup in there too cause like I said I'm sure 38psi in first and second gear didn't help my amateur hour ass. I wanna try and go back for a 10s pass this year but it's nearing the end up here by me so it may not happen. We will see!

car is apart for the winter here, doing bodywork and a bit of engine bay changes as well.

also shaving the middle door channels, the lower door 'nubs' left behind after removing the lower molding and shaving the wing holes on the trunk lid. also re-doing the rocker area right before the passenger rear tire so i can have a 4" pipe exit through it. most likely painting the car laser red. and then powdercoating the engine bay bits gloss black apposed to the satin that they are now.


wheels will be these.

17x9 et20. i have one wheel here and it fits, it may be tight on the inner steering stuff up front, but i may throw a set of coupe hubs that i have here on the car and that will get me a few mm more towards the fender, id rather roll/pull fenders then mess with the steering stuff, especailly since im painting the car. they will get BFG kdw's wrapped around them in the 255 width. the rotas on the car now will get a set of 225 hoosier drag radials on them and will help in the quest for a single digit 1/4 mile pass.

been toying around with the idea of getting a v8 rear torsen in the front of my 01e, which would also help in the quest for a 10 second pass on true legit street rubber.

the exhaust manifold is getting remade as well so that i can run an exhaust down the entire car. and while we are at it we are going to be adding more bungs in there for ecu data logging. in the end we will have two egt probes in there for the ecu to monitor, and a pressure sensor to log manifold backpressure. the turbo is also going to be going to presicion to be getting of their new 66 exhaust wheels put on, advertised 3-400rpm quicker spool and 40-60whp more.

well last year i had to fabricate all the enigne stuff and wire the entire car, so im hoping this year will be a lit less hectic come springtime.

funny. i went back to page one, and it was a 3 yr build...

then i went hunting (from last moving earlier) the thread to find out where the bumper mounting got done. 20 freakin pages later LOL.

oh im fully aware of that.

those passes were just to see what i was capable of doing with barely any seat time and on street tires.

the end goals for the car are street tire passes in the mid to high 10's @ 130+ and then getting into the 9's with the hoosier's

all while being able to drive the car to and from work on warm sunny days and destroy a good amount of what i come across on the street locally with any amount of wheels and a motor.
