I think I would just need new sleeves. And I'm only doing the front. So two. Or like $30. But more I need good front b3 struts with bearings and hubs and ball joints

If you're 4x108 I have the struts with bearings etc.

I am and want to stay 4x108

In other news, hopefully my fillings won't chatter out... now it's time to get to work!

just a thought but did 034 fix the issue with the upper strut mount binding up?

I believe they did. I just read about this now though because you posted it! Dang dude. I hope they have a taper! Will check in the morning...

yeah find out BEFORE you install them. ajjohnson found a solution but it requires boring out your strut tower mounting holes another 1/4" over what is already is (2" i think?). I may have found a solution using those and mk3 VW mounting plates that could make everything work right.

If these fall through I still have the upper housings and wheel bearing housings/hubs from my early B3 kicking around.

Looks like I might have a used housing lining up through Marc. Good news, that!

Unfortunately my whole damn family got the flu this weekend so it was a total write off. Today is the second sick day in a row, everyone's home and we're vegging out. Can you say cabin fever? At least I'm not hugging the toilet anymore...

Something you may want to take into consideration, when I installed my coilovers the bottom perch /or/ top hat would hit the spacers when the helper spring was fully compressed. I think I took .050" off the inner lip in a lathe.

Good call. I think when these springs are fully compressed they take up enough space it should be okay but I'll know when I put them in. Thanks for the heads up!

Oh man. I have so much work to do on this car. Thankfully suspension is just install and go, no tuning like engine crap. Purchased a .82 hotside from Marc today, so now literally every piece of the puzzle is complete!

Carlisle List:
-door handles
-seat sliders (no more rockin!)
-ash tray
-passenger side kick panel
-hotside
-hotside blanket
-gold reflective material in engine bay
-6 million bushings/mounts
-helper springs

DRIVE. I think I can get it all done before the snow melts without much issue. Feeling pretty stoked right now.

You should add some HPR stuff to that list :)

After all, you do want to be fast right? :P

Put the ashtray and kick panel in. Omg ghetto factor dropped by 10. Also put my plates on. Little things...

How high or low should the catch can be? Right now my crank case ventilation consists of the hose coming off the block into the catch can, that's it. I took the filter off and put an "elephant hose" style outlet out of the catch can, but the vapors cover everything making it kinda messy. Should the catch can be higher up than the hose coming off the block? or lower down? Whaddaya think? And as long as it's empty it should be just vapors coming out, right? I probably need to empty it, I never did over the few thousand km I drove it last year.

If the CC functions like I think it does, similar to an industrial deaerator, it needs to be as high up as possible.

EDIT: a bit of a search comes up with this from a Ram forum:

Ideally, it needs to be exactly where the BT catch can mounts...in between the PCV outlet and the TB with the hose positioned as flat as possible.

Bump stops... They necessary with coilovers? I don't really ever see the car bottoming out on the shock, I'd hit wheel well first.

Bastard! Lol. Waiting for a hotside before it moves :P

I spent the day cleaning the shop, it really needed it.

Oh, actually I did do something on the 4k. Installed the missing seat gliders, now the seats stay put and are solid! And I also learned that the $10-free-shipping door handles are junk but still worth getting for the gaskets that come with them! Ordered new non-China handles off eBay, we'll see how long they last.
