Darin, I happen to have a gas fed mig. I can give you a hand with that when you are ready. When will you be wanting to paint? I ask cause I just recieved an S2 rear bumper and will be painting it with the help of Kelly. I wasnt really planning to go for it untill closer to spring due to engine and turbo expenses. He has access to a high dollar gun and was going to shoot my bumper when I was ready. I was thinking we could go in on the paint and clear together if you wanted to save some money. Kelly does have some skills for sure and I am sure he would be glad to shoot your car at the same time. Not to mention he can show you a thing or two about bodywork and will have you do the bulk of the work yourself saving you some cash in the long run. What were your plans on that?

Dave, painting won't happen until the fenders are done, preferably before April and the Spring Mountain event. As soon as I get the engine back together and it driving I'll probably cut the fenders and begin the welding. I'll hit you up for welding then.

Darin's head will be heading home tomorrow apparently tonight is date night...... Lol..



Machine shop cut all the seats and I got everything reassembled taking it to him. Tomorrow.

Look what I got!! They even came in black.



So my plan is to mount these as close to the existing rocker panels as possible, keep the door sills and the lower door trim to drape over them. We'll see.

Also have to reassemble this! Complete with Supertech intake valves and Supertech inconel exhaust valves.

She might! I think she would have looked good in Dana's white 90, but she wants a 2-door convertible.

I did a forum search and it appears that removing the door sills are next to impossible to do without breaking them. I don't mind losing those, but I really want to keep the lower door moldings. I may change my mind once I get them mounted. So much to do this weekend. I need vacation days!!!

Darin, you have the right idea, just drape them over the existing sills. You will have to either remove the lower door trim like I did, or carefully trim the rubber to clear the skirt. Maybe get some old crusty pieces to practice on.

Cams are back in. EM, IM and WM are attached. Head should be on this weekend and if I'm lucky, maybe running and driving.

Sorry for poor quality pictures, but here is some test fitment of the side skirts with the lower door trim. Not really going to work for a couple of reasons. First, they get hung up and bunch together when opening and closing the doors. Second, it doesn't really look good.



It's bad, but you can see how the overlap is bulging and it doesn't really go with the smoothness of the skirts. Just an added layer.



The rear will come together nicely with the B4 fenders. I'll be able to make a nice transition from the end of the fender to the skirt.

The front is where I've got a problem. This is the trim piece removed from the front fender. Serious gap and it's nearly the same with trim pieces removed from the door as well. I'll have to play with the skirt a bit and see if I can raise it some and fill that gap in somehow. I also might consider leaving the attaching strips off to get the skirts closer in and under the doors. Lots of experimenting to do. I need more time.



Pretty crazy how they fit the lines of the car pretty well and are the exact length.

I ran into the same type of fitting issues with that bumper. Like you said, lots of testing and thinking really hard before cutting anything. If you need any super awesome flex epoxy I still have some left from the bumper.

Here is another shot. I like this one due to how fat those 235 track tires look. It will be fun to fit 245s on there after the fenders get done. I'm probably removing the upper door trim, but not shaving the doors.



I like how the trim eliminates the gap, but looking at the two other cars that have done this, it seems like the gap is there on theirs as well.

Shave the trim, Especially since you don't drive that thing in the snow or rain much.
