weekend update *with dennis miller* (I miss that era of SNL)

pics of the serpentine belt fix mentioned earlier:

Image

plenty of adjustment left now:

Image

I also took some time to pressure test the intake

Image

Image

which yielded an interesting result... my one way valve feeding my brake booster is no good, its allowing pressure right through into the canister :(

Also, my car's also been suffering from a serious lack of bling. To fix this issue, I installed carbon fiber trim (the gauge panel looks hazy in the pic, it isn't that bad):

Image

my front door skins were in pretty bad shape, the leather had come unstuck so I cleaned them up and applied new 3M spray adhesive:

I actually need to get a replacement stock ashtray, mine is broken and I'd rather not adhere the CF to a busted tray.. anybody got one?

and lastly, an engine bay shot, just because

Marc...you know I know this is way late in the game....but remember when you were haveing troubles with the starter overshooting the FW, & you had to make a spacer??? Well I think I know why...the Auto VS Manual starters are different.

sorry Haydn, I've been killing hookers at your shop again :(

Or powdercoating ABZ (a8 ) valve covers, one of the two :)

Image

I welded shut the nipple at the back, came out pretty good (used a steel nut to help pool the aluminum to fill it all with filler rod):

Image

haydn's welding rig all setup and ready to rock

Image

Still have to do some crankcase ventilation re-routing but they look pretty good on there, no more need for mounting plates for the coils :woowoo:

oh, and FYI, dont leave your powdercoat in an area where its exposed to direct sunlight. Apparently I put my box of powdercoat right in a focused beam of sunlight in the garage, and I made myself some powder bricks :(

Hey you don't have to tell me about the powder coat :x
I still remember those word you said: "Ah I'll just vacuum it up when I'm all done".

Wow you must have been up LATE last night Mark!

Glad it all worked out for ya, wish I could have hung out longer but had things to do.....

Those covers do look damned good, now you need to find some nice Carbon coil covers ;)

So I am guessing you are pretty close to being ready for Waterfest now :woowoo: You have to take me for a spin in that bad boy one night this week before you head down.

YEAH....no not exactly. Our wide first 01E didn't come through :( It's in ownership divorce court right now I guess. But we may have something that'll work. We're just gonna leave in second with launch control :D

You have a REALLY thick sway bar in the front?
Or, you slammed the passenger door on your computer cable?
Or, something's broken. :-D
