Yeah no kidding. I want to get this damn camshaft in. I jb welded the bumper brackets today so the car will pretty much be street legal and good to go middle of the week. I usually park the truck on my Birthday which is Halloween :dur: one last hurrah if you will. Then it goes bye bye for Winter. Which also means everything on the car needs to be ready. I still havent even started the stereo. Guess that will be one of several mini projects over the winter. Truck is getting the front suspension rebuilt too

Yeah, same here. I hope the interior noise is minimal or at least pleasant and not annoying. I learned to dislike drones after my old 4x4 Dakota

Called the shop. Turns out they had a small emergency on Friday. That and they really didnt want to deal with the car, although he didnt directly say that. Asked him to leave the car outside tonight if they cant get to it so I can at least change the camshaft and get more work done. Then Id just drop it back off when Im done with it. Oye.

Man, setback after setback. I know how that goes, but waiting longer makes the enjoyment that much sweeter in the end.
DE80q, stebro mufflers are actually failry quiet so i doubt you will get much drone if any even without a resonator.

The one I have sounds like a hollow box. Its been around for a number of years. I am the known 3rd owner

I do hope you are right though. It sounded amazing on the NG with a punched cat and no res.

Derracuda has the full stebro on his lifted zermatt 4kq that he DD's. Its fairly docile in terms of loudness and has a nice note to it. Perfect for a DD.

To be honest, i was a little suprised to hear you had taken it to a shop to get the exhaust done. I figured since you can weld you would have done it your self. I'd be doing my exhaust myself(just need to buy a chop saw) but Derek is supposed to have his lift in by the time i get to oregon and he can tig weld. I just have a mig but it would work. There are many places you can buy the exhaust materials...pipe, bends, flanges, clamps. I gaurantee you would have had it done before my yourself.

Shop finally got stuff done today. They got the DP extended to clear the frame and they are waiting on the 2.5" - 3" adapter. Most likely done by THursday. I'll have the MC2 camshaft installed tonight

Glad to hear that. Your exhaust is gonna be 3" with just a single muffler?

What the crap sort of shop did you take it to? are they doing it out of stainless mandrels? and how do they not have a swage? A 2.5-3" is definitely doable. Swage the 2.5 to fit the inner diam of the 3 in and slide it in. In a well setup exhaust shop, it should take no more than 45 min to do a dp back pipe (not stainless or mandrel mind you)
I've seen dave whip up some sweet mandrel exhausts from DP back in under an hour and a half.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!!
The car now idles with 15-16" of vacuum with the MC2 camshaft. I also put new ignition cap and rotor and new O2 sensor. The new O2 made a huge difference with the fuel dizzy tuning.
However, I am still idling at about 1000 rpm. If i unplug the ISV control module, the car drops down to about 850. Any suggestions?

Its a general mechanic shop that happens to have some equipment for exhaust. They did an absolute bitchen job on my truck so I brought the car to them. My impatience is starting to get the best of me so I need to slow down a little bit. Im personally not setup to do exhaust fab work. Until I am, I have these guys do it. They also ignore the fact that there isnt a cat on the car

Oh and I now know why I was getting fuel cutoff when I originally drove to the shop. Turns out that I uhhhhhhh.....mightve forgotten that I had a stock ecm hooked up when trying to solve low vacuum issues
