So I um, ran over my air filter last night, I guess trying to smash a 4" air filter onto a 3" pipe turned out to be a bad idea. I guess that means new toys! HKS SMF filter. Yea, I miss the intake pipe, but this really is a much better setup, and it sounds freaken evil when on boost.

A VERY tight fit with RS2 lights. I'm sure it's going to rub at WOT, but meh.

I also took some pics of the boost control setup for future reference.

Ok then Jimmy not sure if it applies to your valve.......but when my brother had his spg 900 there was a little mod we did to that valve............if want i will share..........but I doubt it would do anything in power gains for you.

Yea, remember I have full control over it, so playing with restrictor sizes and stuff like that doesn't apply here.

Jim your car bad ass!! LOL
I hoping the bigger displacement I'm going with fends off some of that surge!

Thanks. You don't have to start from 82 kPa for the pressure ratio so that helps to. Stupid altitude.

Whats the difference between the saab one and the audi ones? Are audi ones doable?

Yes, Javad has tested many different valves that work, including Audi valves.

jim, how much boost did you feel was safe with your 20v set up on 91 oct gas? what would you feel is safe with my build at 7.5:1 cr on 93 oct? what were you getting for peak EGT?
thanks for the btdt

Lets see, my dyno chart says 25 psi. EGT's? I couldn't tell you it's been so long, but honestly I never saw anything that alarmed me like on the 20v. 7.5:1 on a 20v will probably allow you to run above 30 psi on pump gas, that's hella low CR.

:bump: Any progress?
Why yes.
The progress is I've spent at least 4 full days at my dads shop trying to get this fvcking RS2 bumper mounted only to toss it back into the storage unit(pink rocket) for the winter.
There's actually quite a few things going on, I'll try and get some pics this weekend.

You can crash as long as you like. Its not everyday you get to go a for a spin in a car like Jim's on the streets of Denver.

Yep, that's part of the problem, I refuse to have just a shell for a bumper, and I'd like to run S2 fogs. I have a monster of a rebar built for behind it that will work, but I just have to finish a few more things to get it on once the rocks leave the road.

Please share some pictures...
I was lucky enough to buy a used S2 bumper and lights - then spend 5x the cost of it in shipping...I'm also thinking about having something besides the bumper's ABS plastic and my intercooler acting as stopping devices...

You should talk to Todd. IIRC, the bar that he built for the Black ES2 might be getting replaced.

A few updates, B4 hood, fenders, control arms, Acetron CA bushings, new ball joints, new tie rods, Mance Pro-Mounts and a fresh alighnment and new rear bumper

The Rs2 replica bumper is in storage for winter but this shows how I mated the B3 bumper to the B4 fenders.

As you can see the new paint is brighter, it is correct for Ginster. The car has been painted once before and I think they used a paint matching system to match the paint that was on the car instead of using a true ginster. This resulted in a lighter than normal color. I suspect this because the front bumper has never been re-painted and was almost white because it was so faded. I hit it with the buffer this weekend and low and behold a brilliant yellow came out that is now the same as the new B4 parts. I've gone as far as wetsanding the old fenders to try and brighten them up. Ohh well, with a fresh coat of wax, it's not as noticable as the pics may show.
Finally, a new CAC steering wheel. I love this thing.
