I should add that a good 6.5" will reproduce any base except the low note from Crystal Method Vegas High Roller. They even do 50 cent Candy Shop... hah.

Posted: Tue May 08, 2012 10:33 amI have seen this a few times now. Adjustable gears are worth their weight for the fact that they have new keyways
Freaking lucky!!
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Tue May 08, 2012 10:46 amwhere does one find new keyways?
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Tue May 08, 2012 10:53 amyou can't. You have to replace the entire gear.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Tue May 08, 2012 10:38 pmI am very glad that it didn't happen while driving or better yet at 7000k+, lol. I think the gear may have been broken by the previous owner. I saw some kind of mystery glue on the back of it near the key, not sure. Either way, I've got a new (used) one on it's way to me and it should be here Thursday. I was pissed that I wan't going to be tuning today though! I did finish up installing the cams and new timing chain:
A small view of my fathers new shop (HUGE):
The job wasn't bad at all. I think the disty is off a tooth though and what a pain that thing is to get at. I'll finish that up when the gear comes.
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Tue May 08, 2012 10:49 pmwhat shop? all i saw was a sweet 200... lol
and yeah pain is right. sjm suggests taking the intake off first. i didnt when i did my cap and rotor and it sucked. i think taking the intake off is well worth the work to save the frustration..
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Wed May 09, 2012 1:10 amHaha, thanks man!
I did it a while back when the first disty gear took a crap and found a trick to get it done easier. Of course I replaced it with a metal gear one and completely forgot my trick.
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Wed May 09, 2012 9:45 amGuys, what's the best way to go about torquing the cam gear? How do I hold it in place? Torque spec?
I just don't want to break my new gear when it comes tomorrow, lol.
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Wed May 09, 2012 9:49 amYou need a cam pulley counter holder. Don't use an impact gun that's how the woodruffs shear. Torque is 50 ft lb
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Posted: Wed May 09, 2012 9:53 amIs that an Audi specific tool? I'll have to improvise and make something. I never use impact, especially on something like this.
