that would be cool if it was a legit street car :)

As for this unrelated tidbit, I may or may not know what you speak of ;)

I do know that as far as parts ordered its just ground control castor/camber plates so far.

Alrighty then :) sounds fun, looking forward to it running again and some details.

I have come to the conclusion I need to spend more time on my Chassis setup and leave the motor alone for a while, which is why I am curious what you are up to.

One of my projects I want to tackle is a new subframe that allows for roll center adjustment and a bigger oil pan, be it a modified 7A or an 07k.

Derek did mention that the LCA's will have multiple mounting holes to raise the mounting point at the frame to compensate for lowering of the car. Maybe that's for roll center adjustment like you will have?

Guys you have to trust me that I'm not holding anything back from you. You all know just as much as I do as soon as I know it.

Sounds awesome!

Interested in seeing what you get out of the S8 engine with VEMS (especially if you add a snail ;) )..since I'll eventually do the same thing.

Actually, on this go around D is going to try and find someone who can mod the factory ecu so it can be used instead of the VEMS. It will make for a cleaner/easier install since my motor came with the factory harness and ecu.

Ah, maybe that's what I should've tried with mine. But I already sold the ECU and didn't want to have to mess with getting it to work with the TCU. Still have the harness though so I'm sure I'll butcher that up to use.
If you do decide to go that route, let me know as I'd be interested in your throttle body solution you used on the old 40V.

Alex, i'll keep you posted but it looks like I would keep my DBC setup because of the future boost possibility. It may be possible for D to make you a copy of my setup if you are serious enough. If a turbo gets installed the car would get VEMS installed again.

Scuba, yes it has ben thought of and talked about on many occasion. Just isn't in the budget right now.

Jared, OK. I'll do that and you build a GOOD running 20vt. Lets see who gets theirs done first. GO!!!

so is it that easy to road legal a car in america? I know what we can get away with over here but not sure about the states, i've seen some pics before of cars that just should not be on the road so guess in certain states it must be quite relaxed?

Did this car come with the digi dash? if so thats a handy bonus. Uk cars don't unless its a urq.

Some states have safety and emissions, some only emissions, and some (CO) only have regional emissions. So, in some places you can get a tag for just about anything with a VIN. Now, there is the caveat that we are not supposed to be tampering with federally mandated safety and emissions equipment but enforcement of this is difficult. There are also different rules for homebuilt cars; I'm not sure how difficult it would be to register a tube chassis with OEM body as a homebuilt / kit car.
