Haha, these cars really do have a soul. I've had "fun"/trouble loading up Audis to send them to their final destinations. They act like a cat, clawing at the carpet, knocking over vases, and causing all kinds of chaos, knowing they're about to get a bath or go the vet. Somehow they just "know" they're going somewhere bad.

It's so sad to see another one go to the crusher! I am parting out one I bought without an engine or transmission and I'm stripping as much as I can from it. I know it will still have many good parts on it even after I am done with what I am taking.

Picked up these wheels for the A4 as "daily" wheels. 06 A6 4.2 18" wheels. Dunno why I just always liked the look. Got them very cheap too. Put them next to the 200 for shits before I rip off the tires, blast them, re-spray them silver and put on new tires. But they actually look pretty good next to the car I was impressed. I want B6 S4 wheels still for this car I believe.

Decided that I like the 06 A6 4.2 wheels on my 200. Soooo I decided to test fit them before I yanked the tires off and had them sandblasted, painted, and re-mounted.

Clears fine in the rear.

Looks great IMO.

This is with the wheel "tucked" jacked up. Ever so slightly touches the tire on the tie rod end (235/40/18) enough where you can trim the upright and it will be fine. I plan to run a small spacer up front so I won't even have this issue.

Stock suspension FTL for now :(

Really like the look of the a6 wheels on your (clean) 200. Avus wheels are getting a little tired, as much as I like them!

Scrapped her man. I don't have space for things so I toss things a lot if they don't sell. That's why I list things for cheap/free.

Picked these up for the A4 V8 and I get bored so I put them up next to my 200 for shits and if anyone ever wanted to see A8 monoblocks next to a 200.

I just find sets of wheels and buy them if they are cheap. Between these and my A6 4.2 wheels I have under 500 into both sets and that's with straightening and fixing them (A6 wheel had a very vey slight bend on the inside and a A8 monoblock had a small hairline crack on the inside). CL FTW!

Progress made today. Ran into some snags with rusted shit on the turbo side. Snaping exhaust studs left and right. So thats cool. Hopefully i can extract them fairly easy without pulling the head. And if I have to no big deal I have a head I can use and plus I can install my head studs and compression dropping head gasket on the motor and boost away for a while.

All of the moisture is from it soaking in PB blaster for a while. The only ones that really suck are cyl 4 and 5 because they will def need to be drilled out. The other snapped ones still have a chance of coming out. Might just pull the head and put on my OEM rebuilt head with a valve job then pull this one for my built head. Thoughts?

weld a nut to the ones still sticking out, and wrench, it gives you a lot move leverage

you can also use a standard "bolt out" for a small sized head, itll fit snugly on the stud.

Drilling the sheered ones off with the head on is likely just going to end badly unless you have a proper jig to keep the drill straight.
I say cut your losses and remove the head rather than risk damaging it.

Weeeeee wrong oil drain flange!

End of re-assembly day 1. Had to stop because turbo lines are too short and other issues. Bleh. Oh well not trying to rush it and I can focus on other things. Still have my fuel system to do and other things.

Image
Took my Hellas off finally too. Much better. Not installing my euro lights until all major work on the car is done. In case something bad happens while I am working on it.

Also I'm going to bump up a thread I made but can someone pleeeeease identify these hoses left to right for me. I have no clue what they are for.

i just elongated the holes and used big washers on my holset with a standard t3 drain flange. Worked fine, cant be seen.
