Trust me, if it wasn't for the kids and wife in the car I might have been a bit more likely to blow up, the initial rage is hard to control.

Wow, right after you get the Euro bumper on THAT happens. I really feel for you... At least you have the NA spec trunk reinforcements. I have seen slight hits like that on Euro cars buckle the quarter panels.

Personally, I would take that to a body shop. I'm guessing it would be $1500-$2k. Ouch.

I went for a quick spin in Martin's car..................I like it alot.

Very quick boost and pulls really hard.

I took it easy seeing as it was starting to rain...................................

Very nice indeed Martin.

Cheers,

Craig

wow i cant believe you were hit!!!

im upset it happened but i am proud of youmartin, i would never have been composed enough to not flip out, if someone hit my red 3b 4k ha id have killed them in the street next to their car

but all in all it could have been a lot worse, a great body shop can it it right back to new, a good body shop, not some bumper replacement job, good body men are true craftsmen and will haev shannon back to normal in no time

Wow sucks for the accident, glad to see it's not much worse. I'd use a hand screw jack (or w/e you call em) and some pieces of wood (maybe 8"/1ft wide on the outter) and jack it from the inside to push out. Imo you don't want to stretch the metal more with a hammer. I know you can pull out a fender by pulling the bumper anchor from a concrete wall using a chain block and locking the rest of the car (8x8's, some screws and cables are pretty handy). If you apply that method you'd probs need to drill a hole and have some thick metal plate on the inside to pull on.

Car is away at the body shop.. the only place I can trust is the one that painted Mike's '83.

He promised that it will be ready in time for Carlisle, so there is hope.

Hi Martin,

I'll get you the graphs tomorrow. The dyno got packed up after your tune, and is now unpacked again in its new home.

Though I've moved, it's not quite ready yet. Another week or so.

That is awesome Martin, very healthy and smooth looking!

Another 20vt on the Dynodoc dyno hitting full boost by ~4100 rpm. That looks to be the real spool number for this turbo on a 2.2L then.

Thanks, I can not wait for the body to be fixed so I can drive it again!
Brady mentioned it spooled as well as a 2871 he tuned while ago (we compared the plots).. might be the better manifolds and Craig's 3" exhaust that made the difference! ;)

The trunk latch is also bent and pushed in a bit... especially the sheetmetal under it.. not sure how I'll pull that out.
I'll just go into a orner and cry myself to sleep!

On a good note, Craig's muffler survived!

The SWB quattro would have survive! Get that thing running so you wont get rear ended that easy

No insurance issues, it is appraised at over $40k + not my foult = perfect ending from that point of view.
I appraise and appropriatly insure all of my moded cars, just to protect myself from idiots out there.

Ah, gotcha. I'm currently in that process on the bug w/Hagerty insurance. Until it's completed I'm driving it like it's made of glass.
