Thanks guys! Having it sitting somewhere that isn't with me or in Marc's shop is really weighing on me. I am not going to sleep well until that thing is on the truck! Hope to have something planned before 1pm tomorrow.

Yeah... I am not going to pretend hasn't crossed my mind! Too bad it isn't a direct swap either. Oh well. The 6758 really is the ideal turbo for this car though given the way I use it. I have to avoid my hunger for power! After this is done, the turbo should do nearly 500 chp on E85, so I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with that. The thing makes positive pressure at about 1800 RPM! It doesn't do a whole lot at that point, but still, it speaks for the responsiveness.
I'm just curious why the gasket failed. It really shouldn't have.

Is it original or has someone replaced it?

I believe it's original Matt.
I'd love some help shipping it. It needs to happen by Wednesday afternoon, that's where the trouble is. I've been trying to get someone to commit to it, but not with much luck. Not in that time-frame anyway. I'd make it worth anyones time to do it. If be happy to pay what intercity was/is going to charge me.
I'm down by the river south of Pittsburgh. Powhatan point area (near wheeling kinda).

I dunno, I've seen enough stock head gaskets fail on stock cars that I wouldn't do much power adding without doing the hg and head studs. Especially with good miles on it.

Ok, good to know. My sedan must have had a good one, I don't know lol. I can't remember if it had paper or not.

Popped the stock HG on my stock k26 after Colin took it to the drag strip, they'll pop with age pretty easily.
Were you just guessing AFR was accurate via math.... or?

The first day I was just taking it out to see how it ran. It didn't run well, so I didn't push it. Second day, I had a wideband

Man, I haven't checked out this thread for a while, too and now I see this.
Sorry to see this. I hope it doesn't spoil your travel plans.

Nah, it won't spoil my travel plans, but those bombings might! Still haven't decided where and when to travel yet in November.
The good news is that the car made it to Marc's safe and sound last Wednesday or Thursday. I believe they'll be able to start working on it soon.
The plan is to get the engine out and refresh anything that needs refreshing. ARP studs, MLS gasket, rods, bearings, rings, exhaust valves and valve springs... Basically a nice refresh of the engine.
In addition to that, an urs4 ac compressor needs to go on, the downpipe needs plumbed into the rest of the exhaust (need cutout put back in too... Vbands and stainless bends are in the cargo area) , and the oil return line needs fixed. Then it'll get tuned with flex fuel. I think that's about it!

That's great Chris! Gonna put it on the dyno afterwards?

What's the reasoning for the urs4 compressor?

Yes, definitely dyno tuning afterward.
Apparently the urs4 compressor is a better/updated and easier to find design and there is an adapter bracket available for it.

Sorry to hear the bad news Chris, I totally understand your pain! I blew the headgasket in my truck, after putting new injectors in, 4 days before I had to tow a contractors trailer to Mexico for work... No fun.
Any news on if it bent a rod or not?

Unrelated to blowed up head stuff,
any clue where to find a good used or remanned urs4 compressor that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
