Carlisle was a lot of fun. Had a few bump in the road, but things will get ironed out. Had an enrichment problem, was running 10psi, at 15:1 Afr. I'm not sure if the sensor is bad, tuning issue, or a mechanical issue. I think I have ruled out the sensor, but it still could be. I also need to look at my TB, the bushings for the plate my be going bad, it they are, I'll be on the hunt for another MC auto TB.

On a plus side, thanks to UR20V, I now have an 01E. I picked up the trans, an early B3 drive shaft, and a VDO boost gauge from him for a steel. The nice part with the early B3 DS is the fact that its all steel, has a serviceable U-joint, and this one has a monster carrier bearing on it. With this one, I can either have the prop shortened, or find a 4K prop, and just put it on.
Image

I also scored a great deal from Zerb for a JHM shifter, and all the linkage necessary to put the 01E in.

Should be a pretty sweet setup!

The decision has been made to build a header for the car. The plan is to run a HY35. Try to keep the spool pretty quick, but have a more usable boost range. I will also try to upgrade the ECU to MS3X before that is ready.

Big plans, we will see how we can actually make happen. Stay tuned!

Nice! Don't forget trans mounts too. Love seeing bigger turbos get slid into build plans. :) Whats your plan with a manifold? What happened to the to4 you were going to run?

The manifold will be built by a friend on mine. He just so happens to have a small chassis with a 20v in it right now, so it will be a great mock up jig. He has also already built my mounts for the 01E. I just haven't received them yet, thats why there are no pics.

The turbo got sold yesterday to 88a5tq. I believe he plans to put it in his 200 20vt.

Today I decided to start taking care of s few small things that needed to be done. I figured the easiest thing would be the new VDO boost gauge. Well, I pulled the old autometer gauge out, and swapped the fitting on to the VDO. I forgot to grab spade connectors to hook up the light, so I decided to move the car closer to my apartment door, this way it was easier to run up and down the steps to my apartment. That's when the bad things happened.

I idled the car for about 2min in the spot, and noticed the wideband was reading on the rich side, and was idling kind of low. I touched the throttle, and it stuttered, them picked back up. Figured it was just a hiccup, and pulled to the first spot on the row. I noticed a VERY strong smell of raw gasoline. I parked it, threw open the hood, and it was just pissing fuel out of the feed line to the FPR. So I shut it down right away, hoping it doesn't catch fire! Luckily it didn't, so now I will have to remake that line. I might take the lines I made off, and have a set made. So far I have made each of these fuel lines twice. Its probably me, but they just don't seem to be holding up.

After that, I just threw in the towl. I don't have the tools here at my apartment to lull the line, so I'll try to do that tomorrow.

So pulled the leaking fuel line. Here is the culprit, this line was made with cheap fittings, and its leaking from the swivel joint.
Image

I will take it, the new hose ends, and the spare hose to work tonight. Make up the new hose and install it hopefully tomorrow.

I also finished installing the new(to me) VDO boost gauge. It matches much better than the autometer Phantom series that was in there.

Image

I still need to order the red LED bulb for it, but its ready for it. Hoping have it back on the road tomorrow. I would really like to start driving it more often.

New hose made!

Install tomorrow, let's keep our fingers crossed there are no more leaks!

I'm going to start ordering all the earls fittings I need to convert to the Teflon hose.

With all the the crap going on about the fuel line, I forgot I ordered the euro HVAC panel. The only difference is this doesn't have the AC and REC buttons. I didn't put AC back in the bandit, so those holes were gaping open, and bright as hell at night with the lights on. Working nights, most of my driving is at night.

Going to install this and the fuel line soon.

New fuel line installed! There are no leaks, so success! I also installed the euro HVAC panel. I didn't realize they were that much different.

It cleans it up some. I like how it looks with the conical bezels vs the recessed ones.

Spent a portion of today getting my ISV to work properly. I was able to get it to stabilize around 950rpm when up to full temp. I tried to use the closed loop idle control, but I have to do some more testing.

I also had my LEDs show up. Its only for my boost gauge, but looks pretty good I think.
Image

Tomorrow I will see what I can do with the closed loop idle. Who knows, maybe I can get it to work.

It will be a while for that. The flanges are still being made, and there is at least 1 header before mine to be built. It should be interesting to say the least though.

Plenty of time to get some other stuff dialed in though! I'd read on rennlist about a guy who successfully built a couple k26/hy35 hybrids and it got me thinking about my 20v. I love those hyxx turbos since talking with a local here in MN who dipped into 11 sec with one on a 7a. Would make a GREAT hillclimb turbo on my 20vt race car. Have also been seriously contemplating one of hanks k24s on my black 4k after I get it running nicely. Are you having a few extra flanges made up?

Yep, plenty of time. I have been working with the idle more today. Getting closer to actually having it function as it should.

As for the flange, the person having them cut for me may be making them available on his site. I believe I was also told that there may be more than 1 20v header built. I could have miss heard that though.

My 01E linkage and shifter are here! You gotta love the OG JHM shifter too
Image

Looking at how this shifter is made, it really wouldn't be hard for my to make them... Tempting... :slap:

I hope to get to play more with the ISV today. We will see what the wife has planned, and how the weather is, its been off and on raining for the last week...

I have no plans to use the shifter extention, so if anyone wants it, hit me up.

It's been a while, but nothing to really roport until now. I got a package from angrytaco today! Now I can finish up the suspension work, and hopefully the care of the thumping rear diff!
Image

Hopefully I can sell a few more things soon. Then I can get the front Koni's I need for the coilover!

This showed up today,

My original thought was to install this with the K24, and have some fun until my new setup is ready. The more I'm thinking about it, I may just say screw it and install the N75. Not really sure which way will be better.

I also ordered something today I hope will work. I want to upgrade the rear sway bar, but not to the 26mm bar. Hopefully what I grabbed will work. More details to come on this.

Well, I'm about freaking out right now...

I drove the whole way to work(up to 80mph) to find an envelope under the wiper blades on the truck. I opened it up to find a note from my 90ish year old neighbor. She writes, "I backed into your car, the one you have been working on.". She goes on to say she didn't see any damage, but she drives a blazer, and my lowered Audi doesn't stand a chance against that steel rear bumper. I guess I'll find out in the morn how bad it is.

Looks like I was all worried for nothing. The bottom of her bumper hit the top of mine! Had mine been any lower, or hers any higher, she would have back directly into my euro tails. So all in all, I'm OK with it, well, you guys know what I mean.
