I do not know exactly what went on here but from what I know of Chris from past conversations, and not a lot of them, I can just not picture him starting ANY drama. I think he came to this site with really good intentions, maybe better than the powers of this site deserved. He HAD a good attitude, if it is not still good, somebody else caused it to go sour. Just my guess, without knowing what actually happened (yet) take for what it is worth.

Too bad....I can say I don't frequent this site as much anymore....I think the core audience is doing the same. But when things like this happen it makes you wonder..... :bullshits:

Anyone is free to do whatever but:
I think this build should finish where it started ,loxx can transplant it over there meanwhile.
Both MG and loxx should grow some balls and keep it simple and about CARS.

Believe me, he's getting rid of drama, and the move is most definitely a sign of testicular growth... There's soo much to the story here than what's on the surface, and quite frankly consumers have there limits on what should be tolerated...

OB all I was saying is that he will either have to ride the drama and stay here or get rid of the drama and move over there.
In my opinion (if that matters) since the build has started here it should finish here. He has 170 pages and invested lots of resources into it , because of that I hope I'll get to see the car and possibly meet the owner. I do not know anything beyond what went published here so I think it all started when he posted that he is moving to the pad. MG got mad and changed his username. That is when the actual drama started. It is like the landlord got mad that a good tenant is moving out and in the cover of the night he goes to the mailbox and changes the tenant's name to something stupid.
Probably there is some friction going on since he has the car at Marc's place, maybe he is not buying enough 034 parts...who knows! This is about a car and ALL other issues should be solved somewhere else and not on a build thread. This thread should stay here, Loxx should update it anytime he has a chance. If he did something wrong then MG should evict him in a professional way otherwise MG should back off and let him finish what he started in the first place. Both loxx and MG should put this behind and move on.
I come here for the nice long builds....if they're gone most of us will be gone..so keep that in mind.

I'm still amazed you guys had time to mess with Chris's thread, run the macros so every time his name was mentioned it replaced it, and block his photos but I still can't change my location or username after months of trying.

I think his transition to project pad would've been much quieter if your team hadn't pulled the pranks on him. Super immature and you should hold yourself higher than that. Personally you won't find me contributing posts at the same level knowing how easy it is for the mods to get vindictive.

All of chris' photos were blocked at one point. Happened with his name change too. Went back to normal after a day or two.

What's the use if clearly an honest 2 day title change somehow got downplayed to a "2 second word censor change" by the time it got to you...

Long time lurker here, excited for the finale of your build Loxx.

My advice on all this other bullshit would be to take some of your employees aside and explain to them how public client relations impact gross income.

I wish 034 nothing but the best of luck.

A (rather fitting) joke? Are people seriously surprised that someone advocating a separate forum and funneling traffic over there isn't in the wrong to begin with, and going to get some flack? On almost any other forum out there that's a _huge_ no-no and often a bannable or suspend-able offense, at the very least forums designed to siphon traffic are almost always link blocked, which hasn't happened here.

Sorry, Nate, facts are facts. He did no funneling (that i saw) to another site. Just made it clear in low key terms he was going to no longer update here and do so there. He maintained a good attitude about the joke too.
How about some accountability of your own. You are consistent to poin fingers about small details others do not to your liking, with no like approach on your side.
I really don't care if you want no mention of other companies on your site or not. It's yours to do with as you please, i've always maintained that attitude. Your lack of character in taking accountability for the moderation on your site, however, in regard to this instance is poor ethical practice.

Im staying clean here 'cuz Im a customer and will always continue to be - but my input is: there was too little too late on the issue of commercial posts. There are many of us here that make items that are popular to MG's reader base as well as the Audi community in general. These aren't products that anyone at 034 should be threatened by, stickers, shirts, trinkets, and hoo-ha's. Big deal. Any one of us would have been delighted to get a call or a PM when it was time for 034 to start selling beanie hats... I got sick to my stomach when I saw those friggin things knowing I could have contributed back to 034's product line.

Honestly the only thing I take offense to in this whole discussion is Nate calling us 'product slinging freeloaders'. - I DONT KNOW ONE PERSON THAT'S EVER TRIED TO SELL SOMETHING IN A 'COMMERCIAL STYLE' POST THAT HASN'T SPENT MONEY AT 034 (or made money FOR 034). Since I and a few others stepped outside the bounds we are freeloaders? To be honest, that's almost enough to change my mind about being a customer - but I'll chalk it up to a critically poor choice of words from someone that felt they were being attacked.

hey nate, how many times do you think in this thread someone has suggested that you be professional and take the higher road?? likely those bits of advise have come from people like myself who own businesses or work for businesses that understand the importance of showing character in their professional dealings with potential or current customers. this forum allows users to come on and be/act like some version of who they are or who they want to be perceived as(yea internet, social media, blah blah). you do not have that luxury on here. maybe keep that in mind when it comes to name calling and participating in juvenile antics(for clarification purposes: name calling=product slinging freeloaders. juvenile antics= changing profile names and blocking photos)

Which fingers were pointed at what details? Sorry, I'm still missing something I guess. Feel free to PM me if you want. This is all stemming from basically nothing, IMO.[/quote]

How is not funneling when he is indicating where future updates of the build is gonna happen?
I personally was not aware of the pad until this happened..so I was funneled!

From the outside, as someone who knows none of the back story, I want to chime in as well.

I read a lot more than I post here and have learned a TON about these cars we all love as a result. My projects have been small and have nowhere near the complexity or ingenuity that many proudly display here.

I honestly didn't know this site was owned by 034 for a long time - there isn't any over-promotion of their products that I've seen. That being said, I saw Loxx's original post simply saying that he was moving his project thread to another forum and went to see what theprojectpad was. I read enough forums every day already so I didn't really want to have to add another to the list but the reaction by the mods here has made me reconsider and I am now a member there as well.

What was done was to vilify Loxxrider when all he had done outwardly was to say he was moving his thread. Changing his screen name to "dramaridder" for at least a day if not two and blocking his photos (and thus the content) of this extremely detailed and informative thread was childish. It shows that the mods place more importance on "owning" their audience than in the information in the threads.

Again, I don't know anything about Loxx's issues with 034 or the mods and I don't really care. To know that the content of this forum - the very reason we all come here - is only here as long as we appease 034 is a little scary.

I too am a customer of 034, I have chips, shift kits, brake lines, engine and transmission mounts in my cars from them. I wish them the best and will continue to purchase products from them. I just think this was handled unbelievably badly
