Seriously though - well done Martin, it has come a long way since we first saw the three of them!

Be nice to have all that space back in the garage. BTW, if it is any consollation it is raining quite a bit here too....

ShavedQuattro wrote:So you have all forward and reverse gears martin? That is exciting. The spacer fit pretty well? I didn't have time to throw that one in the CNC, so it was done with the good ol fashion punch and drill press for the 6 holes. I hope it wasn't too much of a pain to get in there.

Hank

Hi Hank,

Arrived Monday morning, thank you!!
No problems at all, fits where it touches.

Cheers

Thanks Mike,

The driveway is full so not sure where to put this one to make space in the garage, might have to ask Mark if I can store Brianna back up there... I'll be hoping to put few miles on this one this summer. Brianna can have a break.

Cheers

Hank-Martin has been trying to find a way to come up with money to buy my 85. All work has since stopped on his 84.

Hi Richard, wanna trade?? ;)

Update is.. since Carlise I haven't done squat... tonight though... boguht the alt and p/s belts and going to put them on.
Only other thing is some small vacuum leak that keeps stalling the engine at idle.
I hope to have Craig pick it up Friday and take it to his shop for aligment and safety inspection, Craig, let me know if that will work for you.

Other than that she's ready apart from some small stuff, like.

Installing front sway bar, oil cooler and bottom rad shrouds.

Cheers

Thanks guys, just talked to Craig and safety and alignment will happen on Monday. It will give me the weekend to figure out this idle problem as well.

The evening wasn't a total loss, one of the belts did fit, the other not, and got the tachometer to work as well, spliced the wrong wire.

Also, what do you think about this one? Toying with the idea of using my old Scheel Mann

Looking good Martin.

I look forward to driving it on Monday

:drive:

I'm curious how that wee turbo will make out, and I'm looking forward
to verifying that the boost is working correctly

So.. Craig set off this morning to take her to his ship for Alignment and Safety.
I'll let him fill in the details. :frustrated:

The suspense is killing me.... Martin, I hope this wasn't another brake proportioning valve issue. lol Seriously though, I hope everything went ok. I really, really want to see this car on Thursday.

Something in that style... more of a problem is inability for it to idle.
I am going to throw in set of stock injectors and try a stock ECU to rule those out, otherwise everything checks out. Hope to make it for the Thursday night, have the plate and sticker all ready, Just need it to behave.

regarding the idle, is this on VEMS? email me a datalog if so, there are probably some settings to update. also, do you have the 2-pin idle diode adapter?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the offer, but this is on Motronic.
I want to get it going on Motronic and make sure everything works properly before I jump into VEMS.
Yes, I have the diode adapter.

The car is running very rich and hard to keep it idling, especially when it warms up.
We are having issues communicating with the ECU, might be because of the chipset.
I've put stock injectors back in and hope to get a stock ECU tonight to eliminate bad ECU/chip issues.
Once I know it runs well/crap on stock computer/injectors I can go from there.
We can't find any vacuum leaks and the only code I get is for the crank position, but that code is normal when you pull codes with engine off.

Cheers
