As far as the late B4/B5, I'm not sure. I have a buddy with a sub-frame I may be able to borrow some bushings from. That or I'll just order one and use it's dimensions. Perhaps someone else can chime in with the B4/B5 specs of the rear?
Ok, count me in for at least one set for the front. If we can figure out the rears I'm in for both.

Yes, it was a retrospectively silly question considering I answered it in the midst of asking it. Just making sure I guess lol

Who said anything about borrowing bushings or ripping off someone elses design?
Not exactly a lot of ways to make 2-piece bushings

I mean to copy the ones you buy. Instead of extracting from a dirty old subframe and hoping they dont explode... I dont know where youre getting the ripping off part from?

I have 034 aluminum bushings in my daily and I absolutely hate them. Just don't feel like pulling my car apart to replace them lol

Sorry I read your post wrong. At first I thought you were saying I was copying someone elses design as a picture of superflex's bushings was posted. I already have the dimensions needed and a CAD drawing sent to the manufacturer. The only thing I'm going to change is the OD (the insert OD) and have them add another .002" over the aluminum specs for perfect centering and snug fit

currently at about 1/3 of the goal! Comon people we're almost there! Surely there are others that wish for the awesomeness that is HPR Poly Products!

I see the computer simulation of the mount - top and bottom piece with a bushing.
How are these going to be held captive to the subframe? Big metal washer top and bottom, or is the poly rigid enough so that it won't want to separate from the subframe?

They will be held in with a washer and the subframe bolt. I havent figured out if I should put a washer in between the chassis and bushing yet though. Most other bushings dont when used in the same application due to very negligible movement. They will have a snug fit like the rear T44 bushings so you can get a really accurate alignment

Alloy bottom, poly top. Patent Pending.

Nothing I'm manufacturing, but a thought I have had. It sounds much more official if I say 'Patent Pending' when I throw out my idea.
That said, I'm not sure it would be successful, as there needs to be something solid to contact the chassis. With a sleeve, it is effectively the same design, just with a different material on the lower half. I personally am going to give the aluminum 'bushings' a chance with fresh suspension components all around this spring and see how it goes.

well it is a smart idea lol. I wonder how hard it would be for alignment though. Not very I would imagine

I need 16 more committed subframes. I have advertisements on Audifans and quattroworld I think. Spread the word!

not willing to front any of the money yourself? Not trying to be a dick, just asking. Its not a ton of money, and it seems like they would sell.

I dont have $3000 laying around to risk on a crapshoot investment. A lot of companies do new products this way too and it seems to work for them. I'm simply following suit. I sat around for about 30 minutes coming up with a viable formula for me to break even on the first run including the tooling costs. These are having molds made, these arent being machined, which is why I am able to keep the retail value down on these. If they were individually machined, imagine my retail being about $150-175 per set, but there would also be no tooling costs. Nobody would buy them for that price, including myself.
I am literally making $10 on the first 30 subframe sets sold. The same goes for the T44 bushings. Being in school doesnt exactly help either since I need to conserve too. Believe me, if I had the capital, I'd already have 10 sets in my hands ready to go.
Without going further into detail on what my costs are, as of right now I simply could not afford an additional 16 sets on my own. However, I can cover 5 if we get another 9 on board. I do have advertisements out trying to get people on board.
Since I cant exactly show off my products on the most popular US forum (mg being my guess), advertising can get tricky.

But you do have a reason for T44 bushings! And awesome strut towers!
