I've found the best way to flush the system is use one of those prestone flush garden hose T fittings at the rear outlet on the block. First drain what you can I also use a shop-vac to aid in the process. Like Ed says flush the crap out of it if you intend on switching to G11/G12/G13 lubro moly rad. flush(seems to be back ordered though) is nice but the prestone super flush will work just the same. Sucks the coolant neck is broken but as you know the 20v radiator works just fine it's really not that bad to change it out.

Isn't that awesome? I mean come on audi a freaking crankshaft bolt thats's used on several different motors? I ordered a half dozen of them from europe that Febi makes. Worldimpex said they could still get it but it won't be cheap. You can reuse the bolt without issue BTDT but I like to replace critical fasteners when possible.

Thanks Nick. I just wanted to see what the factory shield looks like. I am frying my intake pipe because I have no shield. Intake temps climb like crazy on WOT. I've put up a few posts looking for one, no luck.

Take the crank bolt to a local 'Nut and Bolt Supply Warehouse' and get a replacement (or 10). They can match the grade and pitch no problem, and IME those kinds of specialty shops are far cheaper than the stealerships.

Ok you freaks, here's the important question of the day....30R the wagon or sell it to fund build for sedan?
I'm talking stock exhaust, stock clutch, 870's from the sedan, WG spring from the sedan, VEMS in disty mode. LOL.

Keep the 30r, I might sell mine and we can't be saturating the market

I know the only reason you are even considering selling is because Jackie hates it so much

Really though, the parts you mentioned will handle that setup (except you might need to "open up" the exhaust by some means. I think it'd be cool, and what you'd get for the car isn't really worth letting go of such a rare and underappreciated car. You know noone else will take as good care of as as you can! Don't be responsible for the death of another 200 20v avant!

I think he's talking about selling the 30r, not the avant. Lol. But maybe I'm the one reading it wrong

oh... interesting point. It can be read either way! There was talk on facebook of selling to fund injectors, so that is what got me thinking that way. That wouldn't happen though

I don't see anything wrong.........?
When I ordered mine I specifically tried to get one that had aluminum ends on it, I ordered one with them in the picture but it arrived as plastic. Mine had a few cracked pieces but nothing detrimental.
Where did you order yours from?

eBay. $78 shipped. I guess I was asking for it. Hell, I'll claim it on paypal if they don't make it right.

I just ordered a B chassis rad from Carson at Millburn NJ Audi. Set up an account and email him for an extra discount. Luckily the Bx rads are on closeout and I snagged one of the last available (still plastic tanks but quality).

So at least the seller did right...maybe above others. They instructed me to dispose of the broken one and the new one was shipped out.
