URS4 (Billet K26 v GTxKKK?)

Post by versacehobo »

Guys

Can someone shed some light on this for me.

About to install Bilsteins and some H&R springs..

Do i have to tighten the bilstein gland nut BEFORE re-installing the strut and install it ALL (springs, top hat, bearing) in one go?

The bilstein tool doesnt seem to fit through the opening at the top of the fender so how did you guys do it ?

any tips in which order things should go back together?

1. axel bolt
2. ball joint
3. lca mount
4. swaybar mount
5. tierod mount

i took it all apart but it seems a lot harder getting it back together..

any help is greatly appreciated.

Now my suspension is all buttoned up it's time to decide on my goals for this car.

Initially I snagged a HTA35 for a killer deal, but i sold it on for a profit since i don't want to open up the motor (just yet). Mine only has 120,000miles, which is quite low from what i've seen.

I have been chatting with Nick (AMD) a little bit and his car more or less right where i want mine.

I won't be running VEMS which means the tune with either be from PRJ or Marc, utilising motronic.

My goals are an effortless 300whp+-

Options basically are:

- Billet K26
-tune from Marc
-RS2 manifold
-Can use my Stromung DP that i already have and get a custom catback system

- GT3071R/GT3076R with K26 rear housing (.82)
-stock manifold since neither will fit RS2 without spacing
-will have to alter my DP to fit with a spacer
-extreme EGT's with using stock manifold and just not ideal

The K26 kit for $1500 is a great deal. For the GT option, i know of one new for $700 but unfortunately it doesn't have the rear housing like i first thought. So there is another $300, then lines for the turbo ($300), then tune $350ish from PRJ (or maybe Marc)..

What do you guys think. I'd like to buy all this stuff before christmas so please feel free to speak up!

Hk26 set up with a remap.

Easy to enjoy now, and easy to sell later when it's time to step up to the next level.

That's my 2 cents.

Pro's/Cons?

I thought relatively speaking the GT3071 is pretty close to the K26 apart from spooling a bit quicker. I'd probably prefer the lag to reduce the stress on the rods?!

I did cut a make-shift one out of gasket paper for the side that bolts to the gearbox, no one had replied so i did it just incase!

Gotta edit the first post.

I'll sell you my kkk housing for a 30r hotside but it's a .63. But it'll make 300whp very easy.
