'Episima' Audi B7 MT Avant *Few updates*

Sooooo, I haven't posted in quite some time now. My rear OEM spoiler is till waiting for paint, although I had a wild thought to have it authentically carbon fiber covered! Yep, will probable cost 3x's the cost of it, but the rarity in its entirety...is intriguing to me! We'll see.
I purchased a year ago (wow time has flown) a set of 2 piece wheels made & stamped by BBS for Avantgarde. They are model RT 117- 8.5 x 18 ET 32 and were never mfgd for the US market. I had them imported from Germany. The center bore is 57.1mm and is a direct fit for the Audi B7 platform with stock brakes.
I had one shipped down to BBS in Georgia for an outer polished lip replacement. Thankfully these utilize the same polished lip as the BBS RSII. New bolts were installed as well with a total cost of $250 with shipping both ways. A price well worth the overall rareness of these wheels IMHO. BBS in the states would not sell me a replacement lip so I could 'do it myself' sorta thing. :( I'm yet to see if I can source them from thru BBS in Germany.
I did finally get my gift of an ITG foam, oil lubricated air filter from England installed at the same time as my last synthetic oil change just months ago. It's working superbly! A red loom was also installed right after the red top coils.
One other added upgrade to be installed with my front Eibach solid sway bar will be a set of Perrin spherical endlinks. The rear solid Eibach SB will not have any upgrade.
On the docket soon is a replacement front PS fender, rear bumper cover and a non-stock upgrade to be revealed later. One of those things many people want, and I'm one of them!

Also window tint from Tint Works in Boston. My ST coilovers, Goodridge SS brake lines are soon to follow. I took last summer off to concentrate my efforts elsewhere willingly. I'm very happy ATM to have my focus shifted back on my car.
Here's to moving forward!

Well done all around, especially on the wheels.
Looking forward to seeing the CF spoiler.

Thanks @ wheels! The CF spoiler over-lay is yet TBD. The guy I would have do it in the states is back logged ATM. But a down the road dream is to have my fish scale trim recovered by O- Carbon across the pond. Not a cheap endeavor by any means. $550 not including shipping, but covers all fish scale pieces including the MT shift plate surround.

I'm yet to email him to ask about the cost.
Here's a teaser as to how it would look off the car!

So I've received a couple PM's about my wheels where the Avantgarde is stamped on the face of each wheel & stamped BBS on the back. Here's a pic of the rear of the wheel and in the top left corner is the partial face stamped Avantgarde.

themagellan...lucidmatt said you can make these functional on the B7 aka make the flaps functuonal. Are you willing?
And I know about how the internal flaps work, but can anyone tell me do I 'need' the rest of the upper exhaust?
@ B7 RS4 exhaust tips
TIA!
*Addition: in further discussions apparently the the dual inlets reduced to a single to the mid muffs will be an issue. And possibly the size & modifying the bumper as well. If I had deep pockets maybe....

we were talking bout about an aftermarket muffler that had the same idea. Not sure if that one is vacuum actuated or not. The aftermarket one is nice but starts to rattle after a year so eh. Run a full turbo back!

My BBS Avantgardes, have the same BBS stamp on the backside. I love it when persons tell me, it is not a BBS wheel. I have the carbon fibre BBS center caps, just to make them crazy.

Awesome!! As you saw in my pics a tad further up I've got the CF center caps too. Last year I was asked a couple of times why BBS center caps on the AG wheel...
But being I'm female & all, some peeps still question what I say to be accurate. And when I tell them how long 'I've been in the Audi game' they come to their senses!

I'm by no means a know it all, but I'm blessed to have learned a lot over the years on a variety of VAG autos.
And this reminds me, I need to pick up a couple of spare center caps! I either lost one right before winter change over or I was met with a thief!
Cheers!

You my friend have deeper pockets than I!!

I was second in line for purchase. Lucidmatt did some browsing on figment & with some small modifications it can be done. BTW, Thx for the pics lucidmatt.
Besides, I have a set of APR muffs in my spare bedroom. I think I might just get these fitted & be done for now. These have a slightly deeper tone than stock sound.
Cheers!

I have a magnaflow RS4 full SS exhaust with the X over. I may put it on my D3, but I have been thinking of selling it.
'Episima' Audi B7 MT Avant (Bad news)

Well so much for a solid plan to get some fubar panels replaced on my avant cheaper than a strip, fix & repaint. The seller has re-nigged on selling the panels to me. Those being the PS front fender & rear bumper. (both were damaged @ purchasing it) To me at the time it was the lesser of two evils. I took the well maintained warrantied motor. The avant bumpers are so damn hard to come by as it is. His reason: he is afraid of being stuck with body panels that will not sell & just sit.
On top of that he sold out from under me a JHM short shift kit that was barely used as well.
I'm still waiting for an answer on the one remaining item. Since I was buying all these items as a pkg deal heaven knows how he will want to rape me on that one item.
Still pondering if I should blast him on the pages where he's selling other things off the car.
I could spit fire I'm so pissed off. These last 60 days have been less than peachy all the way around. Nothing like being kicked harder when I'm already down. Anyone want a 6 spd MT avant?

Hate to hear about the bad luck, hopefully it'll manifest into an overall positive elsewhere.
Love the car... time for some glory shots and/or vids.

Izzy got her sunglasses today @ Tint Works in Burlington, MA! I was referred there by lucidmatt, whom said Randy is one of the best in the business.
I went with LLumarĀ® Ceramic. 35% from the B pillars back & 50% between the A&B pillars.
I've got a permagrin currently!

Thanks Dan, she's a work in progress! If you can make time can I come up for a professional photo shoot of her since you're one of the best?!
(After I get her coilovers on! Soon!)
Cheers!

So I bit the bullet and bought the shell...I wasn't really happy to do it this way, but its done. I also got it less than our original agreed on price.
First order of business these OEM brushed aluminum side mirrors. Love them already!!
Car came with a complete 6 speed MT that I will be pulling and saving as a spare. A few of the exterior pieces salvageable I will probably keep as spares. And a full set of mint OEM tail light lenses. Has a full B6 S4 suspension I'm willing to sell cheaply. A grey full back seat, cargo cover and all 4 door cards. My IC needed a repair, but I'll pull this one since its 100% & get the odo reprogrammed. Came with a set of OEM rubber A4 black stamped floor mats as well. And some misc other things.
Now let my own games begin on the pull & replace...

Cam follower is due for a check and replacement. Found a vid with the tutorial for the R&R which is quite straight forward and the company sponsoring/making/owning the vid offered a stud conversion kit for the 2.0LT which is in my B7. Buying the kit makes total sense when you factor in how frequently the CF needs to be inspected for wear. The $94 shipped is well worth the relatively small expense against the wear the regular studs will receive over time.
Provided I get it this week, it will go in next weekend. No Carlisle for me this year. I'll miss all the great people there for sure! Next year!
