An awesome project we probably would have never seen on the geek...

A hood cowl eh? Having a hard time getting the Wagner IM under the hood eh? :) I feel like we have talked about this once before!! I think a subtle hood cowl could be pulled off.

I added a V8 rear arm rest just because I thought it was cool. Nice conversation piece from a D11. Plus it has two compartments to store junk. :)

Thanks Kuma!

Eh..... um don't scare me.... the wagner doesn't fit under a type 44? Please tell me it's not so.... I was just wanting a cowl to set it off as being a little different. I believe I have a little extra room to drop the engine/trans down some using the 7A oil pan, but I don't want to even touch that if I don't have to. Does anyone have any info of a wagner in a 200. I thought I had plenty of room. :o Thanks for the compliment on the car though. If my wife had her way, she would pay to have it hauled off to a scrap yard. She hates my baby.

and yes. I was a silent watcher for many years on MG but never had the urge to post there. Was always afraid to get beat up by the ''know it alls'' or the ''in clicks'' or however you spell it. I like the vibe of this site.

It's currently listed just below yours. "Nick's 1991 200q Project - QUAT44RO"

I'm patiently awaiting Hanks beautiful mounts as the last piece to my 6 speed swap puzzle. Hopefully he chimes in soon with some good news

Now back to some engine pics. One of the many key ingredients I have been concentrating on is... They cylinder head. No expense spared there, that is for sure. I believe this is one of the main items that will create big power.... well that and all the other stuff too, but I amreally psyched about the head. The head started off as a 034 stage 2 port with .5mm over valves, titanium retainers, and high rate valve springs. We (Jeff Gerner) went well beyond that now. It now has waaayyy more flow with 34mm exhaust valves and 29.5mm intake. I don't think you can squeeze a bigger exhuast valve in there if you tried.

you can see where Jeff worked some material down and gained more CFM from knocking down some ''lips'' around the valves and spark plug area.

LET ME SHOW PUT UP A COUPLE MORE PICS TO SHOW YOU JUST HOW SERIOUS JEFF ABOUT HIS 20 VALVE 5 CYLINDER ENGINES......

I hope I didn't tie you up for a couple of hours. I was the one trying to convince you to look at the LINK G4 Extreme engine management. I was trying to feel ya out to see if I am comfortable with trucking my car to you. I tend to move a little slow and try to choose wisely. This stuff is easy to make some expensive mistakes. Chris (Loxxrider) learned that in his early days having some guy tune his car. But yes, I did call you about tuning. I have to start looking at that next. So now you get to see what I am building and what you will be working with if you decide to to it. I wasn't just trying to waste your time. You convinced me of the E-85 to reach the power goals I am looking for and told me I wasn't going to reach it on 93 octane. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. Hope your up to the next phase.

What are the goals if you don't mind sharing?

Also, where about are your from? Not a stalker, just curious if I'd ever get to see it in person

Yeah. Jeff has a cut-away 20 valve head... checking the clearance of the valves to piston tops. And no, that is not the gasket we are using. We are waiting for a solid copper gasket to come from a supplier.

from Houston, It really sucks to be away from Audi's. The older Audi's are super rare in Texas. I think it has been about 5-6 years since the last time I have seen one on the road. North East.... tons of them, West.... plenty.... here (South) None. I guess since there is never any snow, the market was none existent. Well except for my uncle. He had 5 of them. He had a URquattro, 200 front wheel drive, 200 quattro, a 5000, and the one I got when he passed away. I think his ghost has possessed me and taken over. :) I was always into Camaro's when I was younger and I never even took a second look at his cars when I was younger until..... he took me for a ride and let me drive it. I was hooked and in love every since.

2.5TYPE44 wrote:Really! Is it a factory 92.8?

Yes a factory forged 92.8 crank with freshly polished journals. I have wiseco 83mm pistons to go with along with 144mm pauter rods to put together a 220 mm short deck 2.5 l Stroker. I even have the freshly bored MC block that is halfway clearanced to accept the longer stroke and X-BEAM Pauter rods, but have decided to put it all in a talldeck Tdi block with 160mm rods instead.

Another cool pic of working the ports to increase flow. I lost my phone that had some final pics after the porting but this gives you a good idea of where it is going.

Yeah the Audi population is weak down there.. I go to see my sister in Katy about twice a year and I always keep an eye out, but nothing really ever pops up in terms of older Audi's... Now a quick drive by Galleria and you always see the newer stuff easy...

awesome! congradulations on aquiring a super rare crank. If you noticed, I added you to the list in the first posting. Sounds sweet. Looks like that is what several projects are going to. I'm in too deep and trying to stick to a game plan or I will never get finished. I can't wait to see these projects come together. I would like to take a road trip to gather at an all Audi meet. Kuma tells me there is one in Dallas this year. I have heard a lot about Carlisle?...

This is all by hand I am guessing too, right? Truly a work of art.

Being down there makes you car more special as they aren't seen as often. I like having a unique car that's rarely seen.

Katy! no kidding. That is where I live. Small world. Yeah. new stuff everywhere. I don't even think I have ever seen a 93-ish S4 here... ever.

Yeah, most people don't even know what it is until they see the rings.
