i cant help with stock top spring caps, they are somewhere in storage.... but here is how it fits with A1 tops and the CompBrake topmounts.

and then, here is the range of motion, sort of. overall roughly 7 degrees. and that could be increased by trimming the lower edge of the topmount, it is not structural in any way at the bottom of the cone or taper out flare.

Wow, I ask and receive some great info...I'm getting spoiled around here. ;-) So assuming it is straight up at the stock cq settings of around 1deg that gives us about 3.5deg each way before contact. With camber gain (non-slammed cars at least) and some caster we're probably going to be getting contact with the A1 top hats with the standard compbrake spacer at least on turning. I'm in the middle of some other stuff so I haven't been able to check myself, thanks for checking it out!!

oh yeah, i also picked up the fuel cell and rail from the anodizers.... nice..... i had a stupid thought to do all that shiny aluminum under the hood, but there is so much that it would look weird i think.

i like how the Racecraft fuel rail looks now. i think i am going to clean out the letters of dye so it can be read easier...

Handbrakes are easy to make... what with all the other stuff you've fabbed, I'm surprised you didn't make one yourself.

No doubt. That's part of growing up I guess. It's not laziness, it's just an enlightened appreciation of the value of time.

I can say that they look like they will be just about the same with the stock Urq top perches. I got worried and dug an old one out of the pile thinking it may not have enough taper to fit. They probably aren't as steep an angle as the A1 perch and may not be able to adjust as much camber/caster in, but look to be able to work just fine in the stock position.

Dave.... haha. thats what i have for the oppressors.

John, you can also grind some of that bottom edge off the topmount, check it out. its not in any way structural to it.

Janis, no crap? REALLY? it was a good month it sounds like LOL. thanks for the info, now i gotta find me magazine, its here somewhere.

EDIT* OOPS! not in December though, must be January. now i gotta go searchin for it haha.

turbo inlet finished. have mounting idea in head. need time for execution. (if ADHD doesnt wipe the idea away)

i better write it down here. drill 3 or 4 small holes around the inlet thru the FG. tap holes into compressor housing inlet lip. secured.

Does this project get any love anymore? I guess you don't work on the cars on your birthday, so instead of razzing you about progress I'll just wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

oh no, this project ALWAYS pushes forward.

sometimes, though, you just take a break from sharing your progress. and since i apparently live in "drama queen internet land" then a break is in order.

but John, since you and i see eye to eye, here is an update just for you.

i had my main aluminum guy brake me up a sheet of aluminum, and i mounted the Accusump and the staging brake. plumbed it in, and had the pit crew (wifey) pump brakes to bleed .

i worked some on a shorter shift setup. i think it will work.

i am also involved with some other development for a RWD bellhousing solution, as well as some dog-box gearing stuff.

John, just for you i have some pix/vids.

i am thinking that i may just tube frame the whole front end, so i may be selling these UNUSED Compbrake topmounts for the front end.

had my main guy check it for operation.

this update is for John, who works alot and is not really privy to the private updates. since he asked, he shall receive.

i also finalized my fueling setup. now just to add some screen mesh to the pump inlets.

and thank you for the Bday wishes...

it is a hard time of year to grow up with, having a bday right now.

Chub is bringing me around to more enjoyment for this time of year, but not enough yet that i still dont spend it mostly alone. same deal as Thanksgiving.

they go, i stay, its all good. :)

oh yes. also, i cut both ends off the AWIC and having new ends welded on. seems the cold spell froze it and broke both ends.

i will pressure test it to 100 psi, if it passes it stays. if not, garbage it goes and i put the backup one i already have into play.

also, i have sent my ECU and a spare 1.8T harness to Integrated Engineering, for them to further their development of this platform. they have now setup an engine dyno, and will be testing some stuff. they will be devising and cutting me a custom exhaust cam to suit MY needs. so lets look for later on this coming spring for some updates.
