had a 98 dakota on dyno today and figured I'd share. just for you, Taco.

(dont worry, it didn't explode. idle is hella shitty and it stalls out immediately when going off throttle at high rpm). smokey from a shitty breather setup.

forged pistons, 10:1 compression, 100 shot of nitrous. dunno who tuned it, SCT programmer (which I hate, crap interface and lousy tuning support).

Agreed. Unfortunately, it is the only option for JTEC computers.

Well......
Motor is fucked. Got a whole 18 miles out of it.
I am now switching machine shops after using these guys for 9 years. They ground the crank wrong on #5/6 journal and now I have dead engine.....AGAIN.
It's a cheap fix but I am LIVID. He actually told me it's my responsibility to find his mistakes. Well....I FOUND IT. I'm fucking done.
I will say this though....on the 2 or 3 runs I did 3/4 throttles on, this thing MOVED even with the weight in the bed.

That is so messed up! If we told that to people that we do business with here, we would be out of business!

Thats exactly how I felt. Imagine doing a brake job on a customer's car and then telling them it's their problem when something makes noise or doesn't work right

Sorry taco - they just wanted to make america great again
Seriously though if they are admitting fault and you paid for specific work to be done and do not want to help I do not see why you don't have a small claims case - if this is really the case this shouldn't be on your dime to fix. Labor, Parts, everything. That is the reality.
Hope to see it up and running soon.

Back up and running.
Bad machine work wont keep me down!
As far as the shit machinist goes, it was found that he left out 2 5/8" oil galley plugs on the front of the engine. Someone is getting a nice certified letter in the next few weeks.

Jesus that's a sad story still. So what happened, you saw the oil pressure take a dive and decided to stop running it?

Probably Spring Time. I have been secretly and slowly collecting all the parts needed

Started hearing knocking and my wideband started going all wonky again. But yeah pressure took a dive and became non-existant

In other news, I now have about 700 miles on the rebuild.
The transmission is dead. I actually laughed because I expected it. All the rebuild parts for a proper trans build are being ordered on Monday.

Pulling transmission today. Finally said fuck it all and pulled my own rig in. Going to tear it down this weekend or early in the week and then order the parts.
Putting a nice 10" billet 3500 stall in while out too

Trans is out and dissembled. Direct clutches are welded together, forward clutches are metal on metal, 2nd gear band is metal on metal, everything got HOT.
Oh well....at least this time around its getting built by someone who knows what they're doing....ME!!!!
