MOAR BOOOOOOOOOST

Got the head back on the block, down pipe bolted back up, cursed a hell of a lot today as everything was fighting me, met up with Marc and Jeff Lofquist today, mailed out the keychains, and now I'm drinking a beer. A BIG beer......

Oh...and also figured out how to gas weld today. The little nipple on the turbo broke so I decided to seal it PERMANENTLY. Used the torch trying to get the thing to melt together and I'll be damned but I figured it out and got it to do exactly what I wanted it to do the first time. Sealed up nice now.

We need some new time slips with the boost cranked up on this thing.
(Now seems like a really good time to hook up that wideband too....)

Trying to see just how much I can get out of the CIS lol
Oh and I also finally found my damn coolant leak! Turns out the heater hose I was replacing was bad on BOTH ends. It's been leaking coolant underneath the dash where it goes on to the nipple at the heater core. One more 28 year old issue solved..........................
As for a wideband.......meh.

Got all the major stuff put back together today. Sizing the sleeves in the morning for the bushings then sending a couple sets out.
The powdercoated brackets came out really nice and makes the engine bay look much better. Might have it back up and running tomorrow if not on Thursday. Going to source a piece of metal to reinforce the hose from collasping tomorrow or thursday as well

Cover for the power steering belt!? I want one of those! but then again, I need to get a timing cover that doesnt hit the power steering pully first...
Can you post a pic of how you routed the intake tube for the turbo? Im still trying to figure out how I want to go at it. I know there are some differences between how the B2 and B3 are assembled, but I would inmagine I could at least get some ideas from how yours is set up

Also update.
Car now has polyurethane subframe bushings both front and rear of the car. I havent driven on them yet so I can't give a review. I'm changing the exhaust to a solid mount and adding a flex pipe. No more studs backing out!
Doing the european 19mm front ball joints tomorrow and ordering up a replacement intake hose to fix my boost issue.
I cant friggen wait to hit the track this year. Shooting for a 13.1 or even a high 12.9. Wouldn't that be simply awesome on CIS (with NO launch control)?

I had to pay the scrap yard to take that head, they said it didn't flow well enough to get melted down.

bunch of friggen dicks! LOL
On a good note today, the car is up and running again. I stuck a reinforcement pipe in the intake hose and bolted it back together. Once the rest of the throttle parts are back from the powdercoat shop, I'm taking it for a ride. It builds over 10psi when just revving it now! I cant wait to finally see what this turbo is capable of.

Powerflex Control Arms bushings have been ordered. Working on the 19mm front ball joints Tuesday.
Getting a new windshield and alignment next Thursday.
Just waiting on the powdercoated throttle linkage to be completed and then can finally take it for a ride.

So got the euro 19mm front balljoints installed today. For anyone wondering, a 3/4 drill bit is .002" over 19mm so it worked like a charm when boring out.
Should be taking a test drive tomorrow or over the weekend. Hopefully the boost issue kindly decided to f off

The drill and bit

Perfect fit!

It's going to be SOOO nice now that I have camber adjustment again! The other cool thing about these is they add a bit of caster
