Man I feel like hopping on a plane and heading over there to try to lend a hand.
Your projects so cool I never want to see it end.

Myke, my time coming out that way to "lend a hand" (surreptitiously) would be time much better spent i think. ;)

the project is not shelved, so do not worry. i have just put a lot of time and effort lately, and the show is in the AM. today, i pushed the car out of the trailer, and went back up to the shop. we finished up the Lysholm'd ABA drag rabbit so the shop can have one car at the races. and then on the way home i towed the Honda Bash car to the track and dropped it off.

its all good.

there is a few things i need to address. we are going to make a new manifold for it. and a new fuel cell. and some other minor changes, while the motor is out. gonna do the ole "step back and breathe" thing right now. tired of pressing and pushing and down-to-the-wire type atmosphere. this thing is supposed to be a fun thing for me, and when it gets stressful its no fun. which is where i am at right now.

car will be at the show, in the booths.... and the show. its really hard to not enter it in the show, as it is the only Special Interest Audi so its guaranteed to win LOL.

but right now, i have to pull the motor and drop the pan to figure out what this noise is. so its time off. my race season has 2 more months, so i will assess the situation and see if i want to push for making that last pass this year or not. its ok, i made a few passes on the motor Issam built for me, which by the way was a good setup. untuned, i liked it better than what i have now so far, as it never dropped off up top. but i got my speed-fix for a bit.

and never fear, you know i put up everything about the car here, and some not about the car LOL.

this thread i think is more like a BLOG than a build post haha. i am looking into an actual webpage.... i already paid for my photobucket stuff so it never goes over bandwidth again.

and for the hell of it, here is the feature car for tomorrow. every year they do some wacky stuff. one is a Vanagon cram, how many people can you stuff inside. last year was 55 persons. another is a combo thing. engine blow and car bash. they go out and buy a POS honduh, and blow it up then smash it. here is this years participant. $270.... and yes that is a REAL Porsche GT-3 wing on the front.... and a triple layer plywood wing on the rear.

here is the pic for your click.

at the start of this project i recall you building it for a few key reasons. one being the fact that your rabbit didnt hook......in any gear. and you badly wanted a 10 second pass. if you think about the goals that you set forth at the beginning of this project, you far surpassed them in my book, so i hope that in the end is enough for you to want to keep going with this thing until it hits the 9's.

sooooo.

i saw the photo pro Ralph (?) today. and a gave my friend Ben(jamin Franklin) for a disc (very Matrix/Neo like eh...) of his work with my car.

and it was cool, as i got a few hi-res prints (2 x 12x18's and 4 8x10's) of my fireball shotz.

this was my first pass launch sequence. the thing is wrappin up like a RWD big block car. that front tire looks like it wants soooo bad to come up off the ground. notice the ass squat still, even with 1000 lb/in springs!!!!! and the wrinkle :) such a cool guy, too. he came to the show today to bring these and shoot me again and was disappointed i wasnt running. i really think he stayed for about 1/2 hr then left :(

here is my first pass sequence. i am also working on editing some of my new cam vids. from the front of a couple cars. those look awesome as well. gave me a sense of racing without racing. LOL

Nice not only has it unloaded the front a lot, but it's got the chassis twist look too.

I have what may be kind of an odd question. Why do people take traction-problematic, inconsistent cars bracket racing?

99 out of 100 times, it's won by the guy with an 80hp automatic POS that will run the exact same time day in, day out.

Because people think you need a fast car to bracket race? Or...Their wife/girlfriend won't let them use her car to bracket race?

if the question is directed to me, i do not bracket race. i build cars to sit and look at them, or so the trend goes.

i only want to drive fast, and every time i go i try and make sure i am excluded from the brackets. i want to keep my license and still speed like a mad person. plus i have and/or made a fast car cuz i want to go as fast as i can.

now, if you are talking about the cars in those videos, they do it to have fun. neither of those two guys are involved in any type of series or point standing stuff. they do it for fun and thats what they like. i, too, used to have an FWD drag rabbit, and now i have Quattro drag car as i got sick and tired of an 11 second 4 gear 1/4 mile burnout.

HTH.

Around here I see 9-11 sec cars with 13 or 14 second dial in's winning a lot.

Shannon was driving.

piston has contact with head on cyl 4. dunno the extent. wrist pin or piston broken most likely.

dunno how, either as it had not even yet begun to be pushed.

this shit has to stop sometime.

whoever it is that has a car-voodoo doll of this car please kindly go away now.
