Which W/M system will you use? Or is it homebrewed? Any pics of the W/M components?

This is the kit dad got: http://www.aemelectronics.com/1-gallon- ... on-kit-691

Basically looks exactly like what you see in the picture there. It seems pretty nice.

Cool, I have looked that kit several times. Did he get it with the flow monitor set up?

Have you checked out the Aquamist HFS-3 system? Seems to be the bomb.
Maybe better/more sophisticated than the AEM set.

I got the kit off ebay, it was much cheaper there than anywhere else. He hasn't picked up the flow monitor yet, but it may be in the cards for the future. It seems like a good idea...

But no - they don't make a divided T3 smaller than 1.0AR. We've spoken with them numerous times, I think if they have one they'd have told us by now! lol. So it's the ATP 35R housing that they mated to their CHRA/turbine wheel.

http://www.compturbo.com/pdf/CompTurboCatalog.pdf Page 23 mybe i'm reading it wrong though, be interesting to know what they are having to do to make it fit as it's made for a 68mm turbine wheel
doubt they would tell us though :D

Ah I see now, I was looking at the T3 page specifically. That's weird! I would read it the same as you and say that they have a .84 divided, as well as .7! Dad actually saw your earlier post and so he called them up. Justin said that they don't do it and that using the ATP housing was the way to go. I have no idea how they filled in the housing, or perhaps they threw a 68mm wheel on? Rest assured we'll be inspecting and measuring the turbo before we slap it on :)

Perhaps it's the combination of 3" v-band out and T3 divided that they don't make. If you look on the CT3 page specifically, they list the turbine housing options as T3 4 bolt, T3 5 bolt, and T4 v-band. To be honest I don't really know but as far as I know from talking with them, they don't make one.

with comp involved, measure twice. Be prepared to be disapointed.

Yeah I'm quite interested to see the housing once it comes off. I also wonder if perhaps they used a 68mm ex. wheel. We'll see.

The other option is use the .78 divided for the GT30r series which is 60mm and have it bored out. Let me know how this works out and how it measures

Turbo came today. Everything looks good! 64mm inducer, 82mm exducer on the cold side. 65mm exducer on the hotside. It looks like what they did to make the 68mm housing fit the 65mm wheel was weld a small spacer in. Looks like a sexy little weld to me. They also modified the exhaust housing where it mates to the CHRA from what I can tell, unless it's just a funky casting. Got the aluminum CHRA this time. Just have to put it on now!

I'd also just like to point out that us getting the new turbo in the first place was NOT because Comp messed up. The QSV is typically used on Supras with 3.5L engines, so we were kind of the guinea pigs and went off any info we could find. Comp was also really quick - albeit dad did just buy another turbo. But hey - I got a new mousepad!

Check ALL clearances, I have read some disappointing things about Comp turbos lately on S2forum.
I know F.A. about turbos, but just sayin'.

You didn't have the aluminium chra on the last turbo? that would mean you received a journal bearing not 3BB?

Glad you got the turbo o.k get it on and get testing

No, the last one was certainly 3bb. 100% sure. I must have misquoted (dad talking to Justin a month ago).

Got the new turbo in. We seem to be getting full boost around 3500-3800 rpm now. The car feels great from 3000rpm. Pics/vids/logs to come... sleep now.

Nice! That is more like it. It sounds like it is spooling close to what my setup is, and the smaller turbine combined with the slightly smaller engine would suggest those results. It makes for an insanely flexible engine!!

It is very cool what they did with the exhaust housing. I would have never htought to weld in an insert to make a turbo work. I think my next turbo( hta3794r) will need some similar work to get a vband connection. I can't wait to see the spool valve hooked up to see what a 35rish turbo looks like in a twin scroll spool valve setup!!
