So WX camshaft is on the way. Soon as it arrives, its getting a ride over to Delta Camshaft. Then we will discuss final specs and go from there. I'm still not 100% sure if I want to share the final specs lol.

Overall I'm going to try and shoot for something like a 250/240 @.050 with about .455"/.435" lift on a 110 LSA. If I was strictly track racing, I'd go with a 108 LSA. We will find out what delta is capable of. They're pretty well known.

I have emailed delta several times about a custom N/A setup for my galant. But they never responded. Best of luck with them

I always call them. They have always been good with me. They fixed THE CAM when a lifter took a shit on me a while ago taking out a lobe. It all depends on what they say they can do.

Does anyone know of another grinder that does good work on imports?

I know Isky Cams is the go-to place for old-school Datsun cams. They seem to have a lot of air-cooled VW cams, and a few A1 VW stuff. But they have off-catalog cams, and great customer service, so their catalog doesn't tell the whole story.

I think calling them might be better than emailing too.

I have personal experience with web cam. http://www.webcamshafts.com They have a proprietary hard welding process which allows them to change lift, duration, and LSA without reducing the base circle. I used them on an Alfa Romeo application.

I noticed there catalog has a whole bunch of VW profiles.

Yeah I'm going to try and shoot them a call today. Ironically, they are from the same area I grew up in.

I called these guys today and they wanted like $750 with my core...............I laughed and said I can get the same cam from Europe for half that price....LOL

This car will never see a 20vt LOL.

However. I know of a factory original Tressor 4000 Quattro I'm considering picking up, doing a full restoration, and converting to a 20vt.

Forgot about the price, LOL. I think I paid close to that for a pair of SOHC Alfa V6 cams but for my application it was a good deal. The welding is expensive and they probably have to add a shitload of metal to the lobes because of your crazy specs. Maybe try Elgin. Ben Swann mentions them on his website.

Jim Green and others have made your hp goal with the MC2 cam so why wouldn't your current "THE CAM" be sufficient?

Because I want an intimidating lumpy idle lol

That and itll work better for the futue 10.5:1 compression I'll be running. The overlap will help keep detonaton away. Since I plan on going to bigger turbo anyways, might as well start planning.

According to Ben Swann, his first camshaft was a 274/264 (advertised I'm assuming) with .442" lift. That ended up on a quantum syncro that ran 10s.....and here I am going with something like a 284/274 (advertised) with .455"/.435" lift........Now i cant wait.

Buy my mounts and hoses. I need sales lol

Yeah like being single LOL.

Well last day of school is Monday. After that I'm going to start getting all the small things that need to be done on the car. Fixing the front passenger hub assembly, urq HD Bilsteins in the front, alignment, proper balljoints, etc, etc.

Thinking of starting the wiring for the bumper lights this weekend too.

Did you ever figure out the fuel cut issue? Or have you just kept the boost down?

Well I think the clutch is starting to finally go out. I started getting that awful burnt clutch smell today after a quick launch...or multiple for that matter. Looks like the transmission swap will be coming sooner rather than later now.

I've just kept the boost down to about 13-14psi. I really believe that this is CIS related. The car pulls like a bat outta hell....until all boost pressure is lost which makes absolutely no sense. I'll have to get a wideband hooked up after I finish up this 1.8t I'm working on (replacing a headgasket).
