Just a note to thank everyone that helped along the way, both physically with me on the car and emotionally here on MG. It was just the kick in the pants I needed to keep moving forward when all was looking pretty gloomy. There is no such thing as a 'done' UrQuattro, but Im well enough along now that I can enjoy the car again.
All three UrQ's from Vegas made a successful journey to Colorado, albeit we didn't drive together for reasons I will let someone else expand on *ahem* Here I thought I'd be the last one done ;o) But thanks John for not giving up and busting your butt this morning when the average guy would have accepted defeat. I was SO glad to hear that you made it work and got on the road - shame you couldn't catch me lol
My GPS told me that I had driving average of 74mph for the trip. I stopped twice for a total of 21 minutes over a 7:04 trip. I didn't even pee til I hit Green River UT - which I think they will have to rename Yellow...
Man, there is some serious hardware here... Pics will follow.
Yeah, huge thanks to my Dad for getting the car to Colorado.. He had a scare when the FPR snapped off fuel rail backing out of the driveway.. He rewelded some stuff, and nearly caught Sean after a 3 hour headstart!!!! I knew that he had left and was behind, so I was calling up sean to scout out his position.. My Dad says he was pretty much ripping at a solid 95 100 and really wanted to catch the caravan and rip past at 150 or so, but it just didnt go down like that.. they arrived 30 minutes or so before my Dad could catch!! Oh well.. Why couldnt you stop a little bit more sean!!
The car was a little rough around the edges as far as in-town drivability but lost ALL hints of CIS problems. Very little variation from the generic base map, but we will work on that very soon, as Mr Swanson is coming to Vegas.
I was very conservative driving it this weekend but the closer we got to home the more confident I became. I gave it a couple good stabs and ended up with a big grin.
Hey Sean- Your car looked - and sounded - great! Can't tell you how excited I was to see that both you and John got the cars done and made the trip. Awesome.
Thanks Brandon, all you guys that made this happen were responsible for reviving, resurrecting, and motivating several cars to get done and on-the-road.
Imagine how many cars would be running if we had yearly motivation :-)
Sean in action: Your car not only looks good, but I can attest to the fact that it runs too. You were outpulling Hank's car at 80mph up hill roll-ons. 100mph's were a little different story, but I saw the tail lights quite often on the way home.
Man, either you need to lose a couple of pounds dad, or I need to mess with those coilovers!!! Either that or you really ripped over to that left lane!!

There is probably a pretty good crown in the road contributing to the lean. Did you ever corner balance the car?
It was cool seeing your dad drive the car around the track like he stole it :-D Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet up with you, your dad is following through on a threat to throw a BBQ tonight for some more tire kicking and car tuning. Are you going to be in the area?
No, I actually did not ever corner balance the car. I need to..
Yeah, I wish I could make it to Vegas this weekend, But I have finals today wends and thrus. Bummer. I would have liked to meet you Marc.
Hrm.... John might have been driving it like that because he did steal it!!! I am just kidding, he worked his tail off to get it there, so kudos to him. My Dad does a mean BBQ, so make sure you get over for that.. I wish I would have left a n75 valve at the house so a professional could have tried to get the closed loop to work!!! I am too much of an noob.. :bashtard:

There is one in your engine bay....
I never use closed loop boost control for the same reason, its a bitch to get it to work right and even when I get it working 100% I've had it get wonky on me under different conditions (altitude/temperature/etc). I tune open loop boost control. Want me to set that up? At worst you'll get +-2psi at altitude.

I would like to play with that tonight if we have time, but I don't want the girls to feel neglected and left out. Lets play it by ear.

My girl will be busy with meeting stuff through 10pm so she unfortunately cant make it :(
Now that Im a lil closer to home I don't mind thrashing on it a bit.[/quote]
good, cause we'll need a few 3rd gear pulls In seriousness if you fear for your license we can easily load tune the car without going fast. Just make sure your brake pads are good and you are comfortable left foot braking
yeah, about the ladies!!! how is her hibiscus plant? _________________
Dead...When you water it with a liter of bottled water that turns out to be your paint thinner, they shrivel up and die! I was told I owe her.
Sean, are you going to be able to make it over for a bite to eat and some tire kicking? I like the pic even though Hank thinks I'm leaning it a bit. :slap: It looks like it is a UK Euro Urq with the mirror inverse making it look like I am driving a RHD car on the right side of the road.
Yessir, I will be there. Been looking forward to it.
I might try another free-air cal of the WBO2 today, without a gauge Im not sure I trust the numbers its communicating to the 034. Rather do it today while the exhaust is cool than later tonight.
Last night I did a couple runs after trying to get some low throttle drivability. It gets to 10psi real quick but thats where it stays. This is the same spring that was in there from the MC2 config. I will prolly need to up the spring or else put my drilled WG cap on there to start making some HP.
This engine pulls alot of vacuum, can that along with the small throttle position be initiating the decel fuel cut causing it to buck a bit at creeping speeds?

I have the same issue w/ my 4000... under very light throttle driving around town, normally b/n 2k and 2500 rpm, the car will buck and drive as if it were going lean. Gets kinda annoying, not gonna lie to you. haven't figured out what I need to alter in the tune to make it go away though :(
more idle air (push out the idle screw for a ~1100rpm static idle) and richen up the bottom row of the table. Saw that on Nate's car on the way from Glenwood Springs to Denver. I think we licked it with a combination of lowering decel from 20kpa to 18kpa and setting the bottom row richer (about 1.2 vs 1.0-.9 in the next row up)
