these turbos will probably only take me to mid 500whp, next up will be dual 2871's I think at which point I should be really pushing what the engine can take with stock internals. I dont mind blowing it up, so we'll see.

Glad to see that you're working on the car instead of cleaning the garage.

The rods should be good for about 80 hp per cylinder (they are real close in construction to the 2.slow rods, at least they aren't made from powdered metal!), it's the pistons I'd worry about.. I'm betting you can get 600 hp or so before a piston or valve gives it up.

Given the old 3.6 was pushing more than 500WHP, Im guessing this 4.2 motor will push 600WHP without much effort.

The turbos were not spooling properly on the 3.6 due to lack of flow...

Can't wait to see the output numbers Mark. (You should probably take it for a test run down 101 tonight to make sure its good for abuse at WF :P)

OOPS JUST loked back for plats and it was 400+ WHP not 500+ but that was waaay back in 2007 (Holy crap time flies) and was the first time the car was on the dyno with quite a few 'issues'

car is loaded on the trailer. Still have serpentine issues, but this time around because the securing nut is not preventing the tensioner from moving. Its a pain in the balls to get to with everything together as well (radiator/engine/etc is in the way). I built a long reach 13mm wrench that I can use to pull it tight but it doesn't seem to hold for very long. I'll bring tools with me to try and fix it when I get there.

But man, even with very little dialing at all I remember why I like this car so much just ripping up Rt 125 for a few quick test miles :-D

Wher you the coupe with the black wheels on the open trialer, or was it in your closed trailer i saw you pulling. you enter the show right behind us today.

Chabaso: I was the one with the enclosed trailer, the other coupe was Janis's.

Project update: At waterfest my shift linkage crossover rod decided to break so I'm going to give the JHM spherical bearing setup a try:

I also need to diagnose the clutch hydraulic system because the clutch is not disengaging at the moment. Due to a bunch of deadlines hitting me all at once I wont have time to fix it for a few weeks tho :(

not yet, no. Things have been increadibly busy, I've spent maybe 2 hours on the car over the last 2 months. Hoping to resolve the remaining problems and get it on the dyno before winter time.

Sorfof an uber old thread, but what radiator and fans did you use Marc? Are you happy with the fans performance for their size and do they do a good job of keeping the v8 happy?
