2.0L20v90Q...white wheels it is!!
Re: 2.0L20v90Q...white wheels it is!!
Ya. Definitely the right choice! I was a bit antsy though to see them on the car and didn't let it cool enough and where I picked it up in one spot it's already got a little black mark, lol. The fibers of my glove sorta stuck right to it. I'm thinking I should get some clear powder and spray over these, or even clearcoat from a paint gun. Maybe that'll help keep the white white.

Yeah, I'm afraid you are going to hate them when it comes to cleaning off brake dust constantly.
The biggest problem will be metallic track/race pads (if you run them on track) as the metallic particles get so hot that they melt themselves into the paint. It's the biggest problem with white cars, as it will happen all over the back of the car (BTDT).

that was my thought, constant cleaning. you will need to clean them after just a little drive....
Re: 2.0L20v90Q...white wheels it is!!
I'm reading now to see if putting a car powdercoat over them would help. Or even spray clear out of a gun. Worst case, I'll wax them as I was told that will help the schmutz to not stick to them.
I'm also looking at what pads I want to run with these boxster s calipers too. So I'll keep brake dust in mind.

You know, I use this anti dust spray on my white wheels and it does an EXCELLENT job of keeping them clean. I'll look at the product when I get to the shop in the morning. THe dust physically doesn't stick very well.

Found the Pagid Blue RS4 pads were easy to attain, decent cost, and had a good rep from P-car owners and enthusiasts (x-platform) alike.

got rotors here i need to redrill. need to get some rs2 brackets, then pads, and ill be set. not ON the list of things that needs to be on the car prior to it running this year though ,just gathering parts.
Depending on the hubs you used (UrS4/b5?) you will need a spacer between the hub and rotor, and one between the rs2 caliper bracket and the brakes to fit.
Ask me how I know,

Hubs I used were actually CQ fronts. Which gave me a bit more offset to get the wheels to fit on the front and clear the steering arms. And also, at least I hope now, will be a direct bolt on affair with these calipers. Rs2 brackets. And redrilled Audi a8 rotors.

If you are using this on the strip and then street, I would just look at OEM pads. With 996 calipers and the bigger rotors, they will haul down the car from 150 without drama a a couple of times in a row without fade. If you were tracking the car road race style, I would suggest some Hawk Blues or whatever, but for hte street, they are pretty loud and consume rotors.
The OEM pads( or generics) do a pretty job in these light cars for occasional haul downs from speed.

Re: 2.0L20v90Q...white wheels it is!!
i may look into a lesser grade hawk pad, cause i can get them through work for a decent price. but if not, i was thinking i would just try a good OEM pad and see how that worked due to what you already said above. light car, big brakes, lol.
