Son of a... Somebody remind me to get pictures of the snap rings.
Got the Fronts in this past weekend. Suspension is finally doing good. Besides the higher than stock ride height...
The a1 lower perches are okay if you're in an area that doesn't see much weather. During the install, what, 4 years ago? During the install, no grease or anti seize was added to the sleeve threads or the threads on the locking allen screw. This has caused the allen to seize in the tightened position and the adjustable coil-overs have become non-adjustable coil-overs. So I'm stuck at fender gap of what feels like 4+ inches.
I'm considering drilling out the allen and tapping it for the next size up and running a bolt, as ghetto as that sounds. Needless to say antiseize will be a huge thing when they get replaced or fixed/ghetto rigged.
Also. To show the fun that is using coil-overs with stock front shock topmounts, I'll give you a look at how MESSED UP mine were. well, I'll show you the a1 coil top perches, and then the OEM top mounts after I get a picture of those. Point is. They're effed. Heavily considering some 2bennett plates

Good, We need something less than the $600 2B wants.
I'm interested

I would purchase top mounts in an instant if somebody had them. These are a bit more involved than just subframe bushings but I'm confident you could do it.
I've been considering welding in some GC camber plates lately. And I'm still considering it..

Nick with the 200 avant is currently building a prototype of a modified version of my mount design.

I'm hoping to have them made this weekend.
My intent was to replicate the OEM plate but with a spherical bearing instead. Should also gain a tiny bit more camber adjust and around .25" more suspension travel. I'm hoping that no modification will need to be done to the car although I'm going to guess that the strut mount plate will need the inner lip turned down. Unlike the picture above where it shows two snap rings, I am making the bearing held in by steel up-top for my prototype. I will try dual snap rings on the second prototype.
No caster adjustment, FYI

That shore is pretty. No caster is a bummer but also hard to integrate to this thing. Those look perfect for what we need.

I'll find out this weekend. I'm waiting on shocks from Bilstein though so I won't be able to test for a few weeks.

I actually just had an insanely brilliant idea on how to add caster adjustments. Quite simple really. I sent Nick a message to see what he thinks. I will draw up some designs tonight and tomorrow and post them. Hopefully they are viable

So it looks like you could have proper plates and bearings for half the cost of the 2bennett pieces. Only issue is no caster adjustment.
Do you know if there is more camber adjustment than the stock pieces? Cause the common thing is not being able to get to stock camber levels when lowering T44's and C4 chassis cars.

The main problem is the hole that in the car. The plates I'm makings allow camber adjustment all the way up to the inner hole on the stock plate that bolts to the car sadly probably not very much more than the OEM plate. However, I was lowered on coilovers and was able to get -2deg camber out of the stock plate. Is your concern getting 0deg camber out of the plate?

That was my initial concern, but I realize I have no use for 0 camber. This is not a daily driver. I want negative camber I need that maad stance grip. yo.
So technically no more than stock adjustment is perfectly fine. Before my new setup in the front I was about at -2 on the fronts and that was about perfect.

-2deg worked pretty well for me too. Really all I'm trying to do is replicate the OEM mounts but with a spherical bearing since the OEM mounts are NLA for the 200. I don't AutoX mine so the caster really isn't a concern for me, but I'm running stiffer springs and shortening the housings so I wanted a stronger plate.
