the replacement parts are spec'd as metal, but I know of at least one other 95.5 that I know for sure had a paper HG in place.

:thanks:

lots of goodies on the way, got around to pulling the head tonight. Just as I suspected, blown gasket at #4 into the water jacket:

Image

On the positive side of things, the head looks undamaged so I should be able to get away with just having the head decked and be good to go.

#4 got a free steam cleaning ;)

while I was in there I discovered a couple of interesting things.. When I went to take off the downpipe I noticed a little motion between the turbo and EM..

missing bottom inside stud...

Image

and as a result the gasket gave up the ghost

wonder if it was like that on the dyno?

So are you going with the CR dropping HG, or the standard one? Nice dyno numbers!! How much timing are you seeing at the torque peak?

slight CR reduction, going for around 8.8:1

Nice dyno numbers!!

thanks :)

Will be interesting to see if the power changes after the head work, compression drop, and EM change with no changes to the tuning....

How much timing are you seeing at the torque peak?

about 10-11 degrees.
