Yeah... sorry about that. Didnt expect it to be so long that we havent gotten together. Is looking at it the reason that you have ordered your single in dual out muffler? :P

Well, I have decided on a dead line for this to be on the road, April 7th.

Whats my reasoning? Well with reading back through my thread, April 7, 2012 was the date I blew my trans. This WILL be back on the road before I hit the 2 year mark!

I know it has taken a long time to get here, but I think that if it is not done before that date, it may just be time to turn it over to someone who has more time to work on it. Not that I dont love this car, but its almost been 2 years to put together a fairly simple engine swap. There have been many bumps in the road, and plan changes, but I feel that 2 years is just too long for this to have been sitting. :shame:

Can anyone tell me, or post a few pics of, how it mounts. I think it would look good under my hood with that pretty little MC1

Believe me, I would. I have tons of people telling me to keep it no matter what, and then there are the few that have talked to me saying, let me know... cash in hand. I would much rather keep the car then sell it. I have a lot of time, energy, and money into this thing. I know I am no where near the cash input of some of the builds here( cough...cough...Tim...) but I really think I invested in the right areas to make this one hell of a daily driver.

Jared, you have any yards out there with any B3 cars in them? Im looking for the little clips that hold this wire seperator down. If I cant find any, I will be making a pair. Just would be nice to see what they are supposed to look like.

Dont worry Tim, as soon as it warms up a little, I will be bustin my ass to get her on the road. I really dont want to sell it. There is lots of fun to be had in this car.

And no, the truck is a little to utilitarian to be racing, now if I were to find a 2wd V8 Raider, that would be a whole different ball game. Ask me how many times that has gone through my head HAHAHA... Beat the hell out of some ricers in a quad cab truck... imagine the looks for that LOL

I think what you actually want to look for is a C3, probably one of the last 5-cylinder 100s like an '89 or a '90. My 80 didn't have one of those when I got it, although it's possible it did from the factory and it got replaced somewhere along the way.

Its part of the ignition wire loom. My car has one. I can check tonight to verify exactly how it mounts.

1: I have never even seen one of those covers in person.

2: None of the cars at the local yards have something that looks like that. If they did it would have caught my attention lol

Thats ok, not sure im even going to use it. I might just mod my nology wires from the get go. I accidentaly got a set for a URq, so the cap connections are wrong.

I got a small update for those interested. Thanks to Varia, I have a very nice set of west coast calipers on the way! Both the G60 and rear calipers to be exact. I already have G60s on the car now, but they are from a 5kq so they are "up side down". As for the rear calipers, the ebrake levers on mine are locked. As described my Varia, the ebrake on his calipers "snap back like a mouse trap". Yay! a functioning ebrake! I dont know what that is like on this car.

I also ordered a set of stainless brake lines. All 6 come in the kit I ordered, so I should be good to go.

Im hoping in about 2 weeks, have to wait for delivery of the hoses from Canada, I will be pulling a weekend on the underside of the car. I figure the exhaust, front control arms, calipers, braided lines, B4q sway bar in the rear, and some other odds and ends should be one hell of a task with it being quite cold. I should be up for the challenge though. I NEED to have this done! I really want to drive it again!

So you're saying you got wires made for a cap that doesn't have the "pin" contacts inside?

If so, you might find it easier to get an early urquattro cap (http://www.germanautoparts.com/Audi/Quattro%20Turbo/EngineElectrical/48/1) and just mod the coil wire...

Ye, the nology wires that I have are for the early style URQ cap yes. It actually came with the correct coil wire. I guess I might have to mod the wire connector at the coil itself though.

Well guys, I have come to the conclusion that mother nater hates me. We got close to 8" of dense wet snow yesterday, This evening we are expecting up to another 4" of snow, before turning to ice, and up to 1/4" of that. Then this weekend, we are expecting to get hit with a noreaster! And who can tell how much snow/ice we may or may not get from that!

So what do you think? Does she have it out for me, or what? :idunno:

Yeah pretty much. No snow at all tonight, just rain and ice. Maybe with the snow from this weekend, I can build an igloo around the car to work in!
