Ben, what do your boost control settings look like?

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq - 20+ PSI >D
Your cams are timed right? Don't bother trying to line them up perfectly, won't happen. Instead set the marks as close to the valve cover line as possible, count seven teeth up on each side, and you should have 10 links in between including the last two of the seven. Unless you're certain, it's worth a check. Dad and I were off on the stroker and it was worth like 500 rpm or more.

I just set them facing each-other (as per instructions), at least if I remember correctly, that's what I did. I may take a peek at them when I have some time.

I clamped the ramp up off boost a little as well in the final revision that is not indicate in those logs, so it might be slightly better with 100% DC up to 3500 and then ramping down to the ref DC of around 44%. I also adjusted the PID settings in the config I sent this morning to help with the boost control up top.

Well badass! I haven't loaded that config yet. I didn't get a chance to check my email until now!
I will let you know how it goes! (after work)

so after those last vids Ben, I will remain silent about and possible 4k beating. haha im curious to see what it'll be. as of RIGHT NOW. i dont doubt at all you could take me. sitting at 16psi and no launch control.

Your at almost 350whp, I doubt the 4k is going to take you.

Get some knock phones from Marc, and I'll turn it up Ben. It shouldn't be that hard to record the sound via the computer while you are doing a pull, and then just send me the sound bite with the logs. I can then listen for knock and tune timing that way.

Banana phone.
Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq - 20+ PSI >D
So, the past couple days Hank and I have been working on getting Oceanic all tuned up. We are running into a problem though, we are getting maaad boost oscillation after 6000rpms and we are at a loss as to why. You can see it pretty clear in this log...

(This log was taken with the vac line disconnected from the BOV and the BC was bypassed to rule out those two things)
SO we are thinking either the WG or the turbo is freaking out after 6300rpms. Actual boost levels don't seem to make a difference, it is most definitely rpm based. Do you guys have any BTDT for us? Could having the FPR, WG and BOV on the same vacuum circuit be causing this? Any thoughts guys? I am fully open to any ideas.

Just getting to it now Ben. Was pulling the trans on the 200.

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq -Boost oscillation help ne
Does the same oscillation occur with closed loop boost control turned OFF?

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq -Boost oscillation help ne
That screen shot is just with spring pressure and plenum referene to the bottom port. So about 220kpa with a 2.2 bar spring. Can go much lower with it withouth swapping springs. NO bost controller whatsoever, so no software settings. But since you asked, you have it with it in closedo r open looop, and it doesn't appeak to care if there is more boost either, it will occilate the same amount
Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq -Boost oscillation help ne
I am going to try rerouting some vacuum lines today and see if that makes any kind of difference. It doesn't look to be software related at all. Something on the mechanical side is happening, I'm just not sure what it is yet.

Here is another Log with the stock WG spring, as you can see it did it with the stock spring as well...

Little early to start drinking eh Hank?
Good - just wanted to make sure software/tuning (specifically PID settings) had been ruled out.

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq -Boost oscillation help ne
So on the mechanical side, that pretty much leaves the turbo itself, WG it self and/or Vacuum lines. SO just out of curiosity (correct me if I am wrong) is there where a ported cold side housing comes into play if this turns out to be some form of compressor surge happening?
