Now that you have your new dyno Hank, have you had a chance to run it on the rollers yet?

Cheers,

Craig

85% Duty cycle on 1000cc injectors on e85 at 18.2psi.... Promising. Needs more fuel to go above 6500

So what's the plan? I know someone who has 1600cc injectors. Looks like this thing is just getting started!

Needs a fuel pump before it needs injectors. With a Magnafuel, it probably can set base pressure at 80psi and have effectively 1300cc injectors, which should fuel enough to make the 600whp+ this turbo is capable of. It wil probably make around 500whp at 18psi if we could rev to 8000 and not lean out.

This motor is awesome. It feels like it did when I went from 20vt to 20vt for the first time.

that is ridiculous. the more I look at it. i had better hold off any more engine upgrades in foxsn8x because I have a feeling that having dad's 07k in the house is going to make we want to swap in a BAD way. We'll also have data to compare to from AAN ---> 07k, same basic setup save for header and engine.

Awesome stuff guys, I can't wait to see what happens when you get more fuel! :D

A couple of revisions to the setup required a motor pull which afforded us the opportunity to weigh a full weight/dressed motor with EVERYTHING attached, ie sensors, radiator hoses, turbo, accessories, belts, water, motor mounts, oil filter, etc. Unfortunately we had drained the oil, but not the water out of the block. There is also 4 pounds of chain in that weight.

Image

Yes, 349 pounds. 383 with a steel flywheel and 707 saches pressure plate. TTRS is advertised at 403 pounds with clutch/flywheel, but that also includes a AC pump(but doesn't include a PS pump). I'll have a full weight 7a on the scales in a few.

Audi puts the ABZ at 420lbs with pressure plates from what I have seen and the chain driven b6 and b7s are 430lbs dressed dry. 2.7tt is a 455lb motor with the flywheel/pressure plate

Take home message? 5 cylinder displacement and flow with 4 cylinder weight!

Are those ID1000s or REAL 1000s? In other words, ID 1000s don't actually flow 1000cc (not even close) so I'm just wondering if you are using a full 1000cc at (3 bar?... 4 bar?).

If I said ID's, it was a mistake. They are not ID's, they are FiveOMS 1000cc.

Just a few revisions that come with doing a motor swap for the first time. Clutch pack needed about .080" less flywheel to space out the flywheel correctly, the alternator VR is on the fritz, a small oil leak from the rear of the timing cover, and then the major reason was for an oil pickup revision that would not suck itself to the bottom of the pan at WOT. When an engine can be removed out the front and up in under 90 minutes, it is usually easier to pull the engine vs trying to fix things in bay.

I had my ID 1000's flow tested with the charted results and they were on average about 1015cc/min. I've never heard anything about them not flowing at the advertised rate.

There are 2, not 1, threads on motorgeek alone that detail the discrepancies with these injectors.

Glad yours worked out for you!
