About god damn time I made some actual progress on this thing!

Image
Urs4 hubs on my 200 20v uprights. Modded for b5 s4 brakes and also modded for coilovers. Finally done!!!! Now I can start to do some actual work on the 200 project. Can't wait for it to be done. Excited.

Oh and now I can pull off my UFO housing for Ron after a few months. Also what injectors did you want 3b, right?

Shes on the ground on her own weight! Yayy loving the coilovers on the front, now to install my rear coilovers and brakes. Loving these 18" C6 A6 4.2 wheels now that it's lowered. Really looks sharp. Need to strip and respray them though.

Sooooo I was getting bored while working on my 200's rear suspension brakes and this happened.....

Image
Do not know if anyone has done this before but you can use 034's adapters http://store.034motorsport.com/caliper- ... grade.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; made for b5 s4 (also allroad/c5 s6/c5 4.2) calipers and b7 s4 300MM brake rotors on your 200 20v (i'd assume 200 20v) too. So if anyone else knew about this cool, but as far I know I have not seen a single rear brake upgrade. I was pretty excited when the adapters bolted up.

You need to trim the rear spindle to allow the lower adapter bolt to be threaded in but nothing major (around 1/4 inch).

Image

Also it looks like you can utilize the stock e-brake cable. I ordered new ones I will hook up when they come in.

It looks like the caliper is a little too far out from the rotor radius. Have you put some pads on to see where they sit?

This is an awesome find!

I've been told u can use B5 S4 stock rotor and calipers or,
A8/S8 caliprs needs a spacer made for the S8 280mm rotors. You flip the calipers R to L for both scenarios.
This might help....
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthrea ... brake-swap

No sense to use a 300mm rotor if ur not using them to there potential. Personally I'm just going to bolt a Porsche caliper for the rears with a bracket to bolt the caliper to the housing. Then just remove them when I gotta get the car inspected every year.

2nd, need pics with a pad. If the friction material hangs off the edge of the rotor that's a big no no, not to mention reducing swept area dramatically, AND not taking full advantage of the slots gas venting purpose by blocking one end.

Yeah it does sit out too far (at also isnt flush with the hub in the pics) but I have been talking to nick about using different carriers to get this to work. Going to try and use B5 A4 carriers with these and it should allow the caliper to mount better on the rotor.

Those are A6 4.2 calipers and carriers

B5 S4 carriers with 034 adapter kit and b7 s4 300mm rear rotors. Perfect fit. Probably going to use stock 200 20v calipers instead of the a6 4.2 as the piston size is the same and I have lines that work and stock ebrake will work fine.

A6 calipers on for testing since I had them.

Awesome, so stock caliper, b5 s4 carrier bracket, 034 spacer, b7 s4 rotor? Good stuff!

Correct that is what I am using. Works great and I already had the 034 spacer and b7 s4 rotor thats the main reason why I did it. Had it from my B5 V8 project.

Rears done finally. Just need to bleed the brakes (waiting on fluid to order).

And what is this bracket for? Looks like a power steering res. bracket but never used before. I'm going to hack it off the mount my coil bracket just before I do want to make sure it's nothing I'd ever want.

That bracket holds the Windshield washer res on 5000's. And I believe it held the extra reservoir for the 200's that came with the crazy strong windshield washer fluid add on.

Timing help please. Anyone see any issues with this timing? My adjustable cam sprocket moved slightly retarded to have it set good. Also is the distributor pointed correctly? Could not get a good photo of the timing chain sprocket timing but I think you can see it fairly well. Please reply if it is good, or bad.

All your marks look correct. Only thing that is off is your adjustment on the cam pulley.

Yeah the bolts on it are loose and it went to that when I slipped the belt on. That's as simple as just adjusting it to zero again correct? Thank you also.

Yes take belt off adjust to zero put belt back on. I would loctite the bolts the on cam pulley and torque them to they're required spec.
