Just an FYI, you can NOT use the oil pump baffle with the JT oil pan. You must also use the oil sump out of the JT engine so it will clear the JT pan

Took some of the engine spray paint and did the pan too while it was easy

Nice progress. You better put a loud exhaust on there so we can hear that beautiful 20vt sound. After hearing jt4k's 4kq over the weekend(has a healthy exhaust note) I just want to hear more.

Well Ill be running nothig but the down pipe for a while. Then Ill bolt up my exhaust, Im going with a spintech muffler. Same brand that is on my truck

Nice, I was thining spintech too for my car. What do you think about spintech? I was told that they sound like a flowmaster.

They sound 10x better than any flowmaster. The sound is completely different. I have 2 spintech 9000s on the R/T and the sound is absolutely orgasmic. My V8 sounds like NO other V8 on the road and I mean that in a good way. I was thinking a 6000 series for the car so it's a little bit quieter, but may go with a 9000 as the interior resonance is next to 0. Flowmasters have HORRIBLE interior resonance. My old dakota was horrible when cruising. The cab is very quiet in my truck

That 40v will sound absolutely insane with no cats and 2 9000s. If you are N/A, dual 2.5" along with headers will provide the perfect sizing

Sounds like I may go spintech. I'm not gonna go with headers since someday i may go turbo so they would be a waster for now. my exhaust is dual 2.25 aluminum so what i'm thinking is where the exhaust comes out the back side of the subframe on both sides of the diff i will angle them to the passenger side and merge them into a single 3" pipe that goes to the muffler and then just 3" out of the muffler over the the exhaust cutout in the bumper.
heres a pic of what it currently looks like...

Nice setup. 2.25" is good sizing for that displacement. What is max rpm on those? My 360ci spins max at 5600 rpm currently, at least until I put a new valve train and cam in.

Personally, I would lose the single pipe, throw in a balance pipe as close to the manifolds as possible, and keep it a true dual. Spintechs flow well enough to where you could keep your current setuo and run a single in, dual out

But that piping looks very well done. Ill have to snap a few shots of the truck. If you turbo that, you will have to open that up to at least 2.5" - 2.75" depending on how much turbo you run. But yeah headers arent great for turbos. Vacuum = bad on turboed cars. Although if its a single turbo, run a header on 1 side. Or, run headers and an sts style turbo setup

I think there was a fitment issues on the driver side and thats why the driver side down pipe crosses under the trans and goes into a single pipe. Cant recall why exactly, but also I was told that audi v8s sound funny with true dual exhaust. If i go turbo it will all get completely changed. remote turbo would be cool. Oh, i spin it to 7k rpm.

Damn. Even now I know you would gain a good amount opening that up to 2.5"

F&$K I wish it was. The fuel milage in the truck is killing me. Having a 100 mile commute 6 days a week @ 16-17mpg in my hotrod "toy only" pickup is draining me both mentally and financially.

Im thinking of using the energy suspension mustang transmission mounts over the 034 motor mounts. Ill still use the 034 trans mounta though

Oh btw, am I going to need to retard the cam at all since the head has been milled .020"?

.020, probably not with the stock gear. That would move the cam too much by moving the t-belt even just by 1 tooth. If you have an adjustable gear(cant recall if you do) then you could play aruond with it and see what gives you best compromise between throttle responce/bottom end/top end.
The energy mounts seem to be the hot ticket right now. Just cover the passenger side mount so you dont melt it.
About my exhaust, I dont think going with 2.5" would net me anything at the moment. its only 4.2 liters and the exhaust is only restricted by an insert. No cats, mufflers, or resonators, so its pretty much straight through. With some boost its a no brainer that the exhaust would be somewhat of a restriction. Thats pretty far down the road though.

I plan to get an adjustable gear. I want to be able to play with it at the strip and see where I should set it for daily driving and also for racing, like if I plan to go ricer hunting one night or something. God I cant wait to see the first look on some punk camaro/mustang boi when a little Audi murders them!

Red, white, and black make for awesome Euro style racing looks. I cant wait to get my fuchs powdercoated white and clear coated. Rogviler is designing a cluster design for me similar to the one he made for his with some modifications. Man I cant wait. Now I gotta return the damn exhaust valves and order the set from 034, as I thought I found a set but turns out 8v valves are completely different vs 20v valves

That sucks that the valve wont work. May as well go oversized.

What valves did you order? I ordered a set form manley, and they were single groove keepers. Turns out that on rare occasions the rabbit used a single groove retainer on its exhaust valves. I dont know why manley decided to use the most rare valve to mass produce :?

Ordered the same ones you did de80q. Single keepers and about .223" too long

The head has already been prepped for the 34mm valves so thats what I gotta get. I had all 10 seats groud and had them grind the intake valves too

WOW, that sucks that you have to wait now. I got mine, and said there was no way they would work, and sent them back. still waiting on refund. My correct valves and springs should be here tomorrow, then just waiting on retainers from hank. Finaly I will be able to get the head done.

Yeah it does. What my machine shop is going to do is send back the wrong valves with one of my stock exhaust valves and have them custom make 5 for me. If the price is too much, Ill just buy a set from 034. Its not that big of a deal YET because Im still waiting on my friends dad to fix the crack in the EM and I still need my motor and trans mounts
