I need to find the money tree again and finish getting parts for the 6spd swap in my CQ, then put a couple small turbos on the 4.2. Won't take much boost, since the car doesn't weigh much more than 3100lbs.

So we got the 5000 rpm limiter sorted out today and did a few power pulls running at 6psi straight wastegate with n75 unplugged. Damn

It's been worse haha

Car's running great. This is still the first revision, but so far so good. Almost stock RS6 power with 5psi and little timing. Also only at 68% duty cycle on the stock injectors so well see how far they take me.

looks pretty awesome for 5psi, how far to you intend on taking the power? That sound is fantastic, a single turbo v8 urs6 avant has been a fantasy build for me, even more so that I have a kid now.

I plan on taking it just north of 600hp, basically maxing out the stock injectors. I need it to be reliable so I probably won't go any further although it would make 800hp no issues before I had to open the engine up.

Basically, I want to run 10.99 and get kicked off the track. 602hp moving 4000lbs have it right around 10.9 capable.

Then, I'll sell it and buy something reliable that I can take out my newly expected family member my wife and I are expecting in December haha

congrats man! life will change for sure, you may find project move much slower, and shop time is in much shorter increments, but its totally worth it.

Thanks guys! I know my time will be very limited for the first few years.. this thing has been reliable so far, about 2000 miles.

We're super excited, it looks like my R8 might turn into a RS7 seeing as you can't fit a baby in the back haha

Congrats on the baby on the way! Seems like yesterday when mine were little. Enjoy them! Projects definitely move slower, but like has been said, well worth it.

Thank you!

I think it goes without saying now that safety needs to be a top priority so...

Brakes... Stock brakes are going to be an issue with these #'s so I did the only logical thing one could do...

Understatement of the year, Dana! I remember thinking my CQ would be done years ago. It's not. Two kids and a dog later...

Joel, there are some easy upgrades for the front brakes, I'd highly recommend getting something on there sooner than later. Worst feeling is out-driving the brakes and really needing them. BTDT.

it can also be rather nerve-racking when you consider that i have no brake bomb, nor have I converted to vacuum assisted brakes.

I hope to fit some 17z at a minimum as well as get the entire Audi 100 booster conversion.

I will say though that as long as the car isn't being pushed consecutively, the brakes (even from 150) have not been an issue.

But yes, upgraded... they will be...

From what I've read, the 17z calipers and associated rotors are ridiculously heavy. How much (if any) more braking performance will they provide over a set of 986 BoxsterS calipers?

Just a thought...

I might have a 100 booster sitting in my garage...Not sure what all you need to do that, but if I do have it, you pick up the shipping and it cleans at least one part out of my garage.

I'll just leave this link here:

17z calipers with pads for $300 shipped, could probably work a bit better deal.

Thanks for the heads up!

I think once I goto H20i, a few get togethers, as well my 2000 mile drive to GA and back in October the car will be going up for sale.

Not because it needs to, but I don't have any more time to turn a wrench anymore with school going on let alone a baby in December. This things been absolutely phenomenal over the past month, and damn do I love it, but the nickel and diming is getting in the way of my 1st gen R8.

Made a beautiful 400 mile trip this past Sunday with the car, and will be headed to H20i this weekend for another 400 miles, then its off to Georgia for 2000 miles.

Everybody this past weekend loved the car, I think i gave a ride along to almost 10 people or so. It's reignited my desire to keep it as it really is something special. So much so I turn my back on a ridiculous offer... my tuner started adding timing to the already 5psi and I think were about to start taking it to 650hp and maxing the stock injectors. Its been rock solid reliable and I've still been dailying it. Currently at 5000 miles.
